Coinciding with Software Freedom Day on 19 September 2009, the Open Education Resources Foundation will launch officially. As part of the official launch the OERF will sign the Cape Town Open Education Declaration and we invite WikiEducators from around the world to pledge signing the declaration between 17 to 19 September 2009.

  • If you have already signed the Declaration then list your name under the section for existing WikiEducator signatories.
  • If you have not yet signed the declaration consider pledging your support to sign the declaration between 17 and 19 September 2009 celebrating the launch of the OER Foundation.

  • Step 1: Pledge to sign the Cape Town Open Education Declaration below
  • Step 2: Arrange for someone to take a photo for your signature or use a web-cam. We encourage you to upload your photo to our gallery of WikiEducators signing the declaration during Software Freedom Day celebrations this year.
  • Step 3: Decide whether you will be signing as an individual or on behalf of an organisation. You're most welcome to sign WikiEducator as your orgnisation :-) -- Complete the instructions to sign the declaration online

Take control of your digital future between 17 and 19 September 2009, and join WikiEducators around the world who are sharing knowledge freely by pledging to sign the Cape Town Open Education Declaration. The OER Foundation will be signing the declaration on 17 September 2009 to coincide with global activities in celebration of Software Freedom Day and to mark the official launch of the Foundation.
