Open Education Resources are a bridge over troubled water. I am Elizabeth Okwisa Mbasu from Kenya. I live in the Ngong Hills suburbs, 25 kilometres away from Nairobi city. The day I enrolled with WikiEducator, it was great fun introducing myself to an online community of practice, learning the culture of sharing, learning great insights from others and being challenged to also contribute and share. I met true neighbours and friends and by using these technologies, we are getting closer each day. After this thrilling and inspiring journey, I couldn’t help not letting my colleagues know about it. Through the sponsorship of WikiEducator, I organized three workshops for my fellow staff at the workstation. Read more ...

Comments you would like to make, feel freeHello Patricia Madam, on our Wiki Educator Graduation Day, I express my deep sense of gratitude for you and your team. You have made me learn many wiki editing skills and created interest in it. The number of edits I have made during these 10 days is a standing testimony for that. I learnt many things by experimentation. Now I am very much interested to learn advanced wiki editing skills. If possible, I will join another workshop to learn advanced skills or I would like to volunteer my time in helping other learners during workshops, so that I may sharpen my skills also. I will be in touch with you. Warm Regards. --Dr. K S Ramakrishnan 17:09, 10 May 2011 (UTC){{Dear K.S, I am glad you enjoyed the workshop. Feel free to come back as often as you would like. Re: Thank you, Godfred. The pleasure is mine. Warm wishes--Patricia Schlicht 16:03, 20 October 2011 (UTC) Hello Patricia, Looking forward to attending the upcoming Learning 4 Content workshop.
Dear Patricia, I must share this with you. We are in the midst of our accreditation process. And the team was very pleased with my wiki page. They were impressed by content on teaching skills etc which are being accessed by trainee teachers and others all over the world. The UPE Sept 2010 award too was a plus point. One of them suggested I document the same and send it to our Indian NCERT (National Council of Education Research and training) as it would be accepted as an innovative practice in teacher education. thanks to you for all your support, encouragement and tips as my facilitator...Cynthia D'Costa--Agnes 00:26, 25 March 2011 (UTC) Dear Patricia, When I look at your User page I realize that I still have so much to learn. Warm wishes --Patricia Schlicht 19:11, 12 February 2010 (UTC)) Thanks for the kind words and support Patricia, sometimes I feel like my own Sci-fi character when these endeavours begin, but I keep thinking of the possibilities that you and the facilitators are helping us to explore in this course and I'm very encouraged. Your page is quite informative as well live, laugh and know that you are a blessing (: Hi Tonie, thank you so much for you warm words. It means a lot. Don't feel shy, call on us, when you need help. This is what we are here for...any time. You have done an excellent job so far, so just keep going. It will come together. Warm wishes--Patricia Schlicht 02:45, 14 February 2010 (UTC))
(: Thanks for the support and the encouragement, I must admit to feeling much braver and much more creative as I go along, and never fear I'll be taking Steve, Wayne and Yourself up from time to time on that help offer. Thanks also for the added certification.....now its to attempt background color or watermark graphics for the whole page & sounds or sound-effects on page access, though this will probably have to wait till I return on next week --Live, laugh, love and allow the blessings to continue..Antonette 20:54, 24 February 2010 (UTC)) Cynthia D'Costa Dear Patricia, thanks for all the encouraging words. I am learning using a mix of trial and error and constructivism. When some one like yourself or Gita responds, then the behaviorist approach and all principles of reinforcement take over and I am encouraged to go a step ahead.... So will it be 'One day at a time'! (: Dear Patricia, thanks for re-arranging my page and making it more aesthetic. Today we celebrate Guru Pournima in India. Guru means teacher. Pournima is full moon. This full moon day is to show reverence to our teachers. It has more to do with culture rather than religion and so even devout Catholics like me hold the day in high esteem. My privilege to wish you(my wikiguide and teacher)on this auspicious day. God Bless you..... Cynthia --Agnes 01:42, 24 July 2010 (UTC))
Dear Patricia, Thank you so much for your welcoming words and your support. I admire the job you're doing and it's an honour to have you as my guide.--Mary Di Mónaco 22:43, 24 July 2010 (UTC)
