My Profile
==Professional Background
I am a teacher educator working in the field for about seventeen years.I have taught the B.Ed. classes in three different universities. I started my career by teaching in Department of Education, Delhi University. Then I taught in Vasant College for Education, Varanasi, UP which is a college affiliated to Banaras Hindu University, Varansi, UP. The next destination was MJP Rohilkhand University, Bareilly, UP Where i am still on rolls as Reader in Education. I have taken leave from there to work with the Distance Education Programme-Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan unit at IGNOU. I worked as Programme Officer, DEPSSA at IGNOU. for two years. Presently I am working as Academic at Inter University Consortium for Technology Enabled Flexible Education and Development(IUC-TEFED).
==Education
I have done my schooling from Lady Irwin Senior Secondary School, Canning Lane(presently Madhavrao Scindia Marg), New Delhi. Those were years of learning and yearning to grow up. I am still in touch with my school mates. Every year I try to visit my school on Basant Panchmi to partcipate in the Saraswati Puja which is celebrated every year with grandeur. I did my graduate and post graduate studies from Daulat Ram College and Hindu college,Delhi University, Delhi, India respectively. The specialisation was Zoology and I would like to mention here that one of the Facilitators Dr. Sarita kumar was my senior in the Department of Zoolgy, Delhi University :-). After this I entered the world of Education. I did my B.Ed. and M.Ed. from the C.I.E.- the Department of Education, Delhi University. I qualified the JRF in Education conducted by UGC and did M.Phil. from Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi. Job took me away from Delhi and so I did my Ph.D. from MJP Rohilkhand University, Bareilly, UP in Education. I have completed Post Graduate Diploma in E-Learning-PGDEL from IGNOU.
==My Interests
- Learning New Things
- Listening to Music
- Travelling
I have travelled a lot in India. I have touched all the corners of my country. travelling to Leh in Ladakh has been a exciting journey. I went there twice once in 1984 and then in 2006. I could see many changes in the landscape as well as in social interactions. Though the remote areas are still untouched. The magnificance of Monasteries leaves one spellbound and you start reflecting at metaphysical level. So we are all turned in Philosophers :-). Another journey which affected me immensely was the trip to Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
- Reading
- Thinking :-)
My Activities
- Attended Conference Organised by AAOU. It was 25th Conference and was organised by Wawasan Open University, Penang, Malaysia.Penang is a beautiful city with heritage buildings. UNESCO has given it status of Heritage City.
- attended recently MOOC on OER and it was very interesting and informative.
My Goals
Personal
I was born and brought up in Delhi.It was a normal childhood but when I look back as an adult I think I did have a privileged childhood. My father is a retired University professor or I may say he is not retired as he is actively engaged in academic activities :-). मेरा सपना है की मैं एक शिक्षा संस्थान स्थापित करूँ जहाँ शिक्षा एक आनंदमयी अनुभव होगी|
