I have become an avid WikiEducator in 2006, when I was introduced to the Free/Libre Education Movement for the first time. I have since then gradually increased my understanding, skills and involvement in this area and the use of and integration of open source software in my work. It has been a privilege to see how one country after another has made use of this technology to make a difference in their own environment as well as in the lives of those around them. WikiEducator has become the most exciting professional experience I have ever had. I am passionate about learning and sharing the knowledge with others to collaborate on an exciting project. I actively facilitate online workshops on WikiEducator as community volunteer in my spare time, in an attempt to help build a sustainable community of educators around the world. I am interested in social networking, culture/anthropology, open and distance learning/eLearning, community and capacity building. I am a philanthropist. Feel free to email me Warm wishes--Patricia Schlicht 02:54, 21 September 2011 (UTC)}}

I am a mexican private teacher, tutor and consultant. For over thirty years I have taught mathematics, physics and chemistry. I have been in touch with computer technology since 1980 and started navigating the Internet since the early 90's.

The knowledge I have gained in teaching/tutoring comes from my personal experiences and self-studies. I have also been a self learner in computing, web programing, ITC and web 2.0 platforms and tools. As a perseverant learner and passioned for challenges, I have spent thousands of hours seeking new ways to integrate personal learning experiences into my teaching activities. I have devoted my professional life to my two passions: teaching and learning.

I am a proud Wikieducator and a passionate advocate for the cause of OER. I am currently involved in several wiki-activities: developing open educational resources, participating in workgroups, assisting and facilitating eL4C workshops, participating in discussion groups, promoting our community outside, assisting in learning design projects, etc. I am deeply proud and honoured to collaborate with this wonderful team of experienced and enthusiastic facilitators lead by Paty. Hello Gladys,

What a warm introduction. Myself Nirmala, also in the teaching field. Although a microbiologist by education, I felt English was the need of the hour in this small town I got married to, a big transition for me from a bustling vibrant cosmopolitian town Bombay, (now known as Mumbai) to a small village in kerala..southern India. so i completed my 12th grade exam from Trinity college of london, and started my dream project:NIMS, a small instituteion that caters to developing students and elders in their communicative skills.

Mother of two: a son and a daughter, they have sprouted wings and flown to their own nests..husband a doctor. Shall surely catch you on skype. My id is nimsparam@gmail.com

Mwave.gifHello everyone, Neat to be able to assist Patricia, and the other fantastic facilitators. I am a lecturer in IT at the Eastern Institute of Technology, in Hawkes Bay, New Zealand. Patricia has allowed me to be a co-facilitator in previous L4C workshops and she makes sure I don't get you all into trouble!! You may notice that my other facilitators have heaps more edits than I do on WikiEducator, however I have been running my own wiki for a number of years ( http://www.virtualmv.com/wiki ). I am looking forward to catching up with many of you and making new wiki friends.

Having just finished studying (part time over 8 years) I have been exploring the use of wikis to deliver content and learning experiences to my students, and am keen to share some of the my learning.

For a diversion I play the ukulele (but only basic chords) and enjoy walking. I live in an region called Hawke's Bay and it has two cities, Napier New Zealand and Hastings, New Zealand. known for its sun, wines and Art Deco Architecture.

(Comment.gif: Hello Michael, WikiEducator doesn't allow, its collaboration and team play all the way, so we are the lucky ones(:-)) You are always welcome to join and we are happy to have such a skilled person such as yourself with us. Thank you for making the time and helping with this workshop, Michael. Warm wishes--Patricia Schlicht 02:37, 21 September 2011 (UTC))

I've been a Wikieducator (WE) since January of 2009 and have enjoyed co-facilitating a number of eL4C workshops over the last couple of years. I have a particular interest in open educational resources pertaining to English language teaching and learning, so most of what you'll find in my user page relates to work that I do with English-as-a-foreign language educators as well as learners. I am currently pursuing a doctorate degree and am interested in how teachers cultivate personal learning networks to promote open and ongoing professional learning. I look forward to meeting new WEs and am always open to collaborate with those who share similar interests. Saludos! --User:Bnleez12:37, 18 September 2011 (UTC)

I had joined L4C50 WE in May 2011 and learnt wiki editing skills and obtained Wiki Buddy level. It has opened a whole new world to me. Due to the constant help and encouragement of my facilitators and participants, I got the best User Page Expo in May 2011. Now I am assigned as a Co-Facilitator and I enjoy this role as well. Please feel free to ask as many questions as possible. By helping you, I also learn new things. I wish you all have a happy learning. My research interests are Computer Science, M-Learning, Educational Technology, Media & Communication. Recently I had completed my MCA and am exploring Open Resource softwares, particularly Linux and Android in mobiles. Long distance running is my hobby. I run 21 Kms /42 Kms or Ultra marathons regularly. It makes me physically fit and gives me peace and a sense of achievement. If anybody is interested in long distance running, you may join me (in marathons also) in creating a module for runners, which will be useful to them. Feel free to email me. I wish one of you get UPE for this month. Warm wishes--Dr. K S Ramakrishnan 16:46, 22 September 2011 (UTC)

Wayne Mackintosh

Wayne Mackintosh.jpg
Apology for late introductions -- I've just returned from a short international mission. Hi Everyone, I had the privilege of starting the WikiEducator project in February 2006 from a small desktop server based at the University of Auckland, New Zealand. Today WikiEducator is one of the world's fastest growing and most productive wikis in the formal education sector. It's great to see teachers around the world collaborating and sharing knowledge in this way. I have to say that WikiEducator has been the most rewarding project of my professional career as educator. If you want to find out a little more about my work in WikiEducator, feel free to visit my userpage. We are now starting a new international collaboration among accredited colleges, polytechnics and universities called the OERu network. This international innovation partnership aims to provide free learning opportunities for all students worldwide with pathways to achieve credible credentials. I hope your institution will join us. Welcome to our family and I'll see you in the wiki. --Wayne Mackintosh 23:50, 23 September 2011 (UTC) 80px-Wikineighbour V2.pngIn India we greet GURU with "Charan Sparch".(We touch feet of the guru to seek blessings)
As you have mentioned, I have jumped into water and learning swimming.

Hello everyone. I am a Mathematics teacher working in Kulachi Hansraj Model Shool, New Delhi , India. I am happy to be a part of this workshop. I joined teaching profession in 1995, with a mission of using different strategies for making Mathematics teaching-learning effective and enjoyable. In 2005, for the first time, I got an opportunity to explore the use of web 2.0 in education in a workshop organised by CII Shiksha. I created blogs/wikis/social networks for collaborating with students and teachers. I received the best e teacher award in 2007 from Dr. A.P.J. Harbans Singh

As retired banker now 60, has dream  to have meaningful retirement. Keeping in view this objective among other resources I got opportunity during my visit to U.K to read Financial Times regularly. This has helped me to understand that in the 21st century people will need skill to be comfortable thinking and producing on screen. The importance of   this skill lies in the fact that University of Illinois Springfield under Massive Open Online Class (MOOC) “Online Learning Today...and tomorrow” discussed with more than 2000 world wide participants for 8 weeks.
Wiki Educators are very friendly .They follow the mantra “: just try it! Our community will support you “how realistic this spirit is clearly evident  by  two instances as under.
  (1) Patricia Schlicht ji  offered me abundance source of inspiration  as    ‘Just like you I have started to make my way through the subject matter and 6 years later, I have become an advocate for Open Education Resources and the OER Foundation, the foundation under which Wiki Educator found its home ’
(2) Ramesh Sharma ji always find opportunity to help me to tease out my potential as   Ramesh Sharma says: Input from Mr. Harbans Singh Sidhu   in  written by Wayne Mackintosh https://edutechdebate.org/digital-learning-resources/towards-free-learning-opportunities-for-all-students-worldwide/      . Wiki Educators offered me another opportunity by e L 4C51 to improve skill to get as early as possible involved with the Learning4Content initiative to have meaningful retirement. --Harbans Singh 10:21, 21 September 2011 (UTC)

(Comment.gif: Dear Harbans. I so enjoyed reading your note. Thank you. You touch on this exactly and are giving back to the community by sharing your experiences, which is wonderful and still true up until today. Keep up the good work. You are very inspiring to Newbies. FangHao

Fanghao.jpg

Hello everyone, I'm really exciting to be a participant with so many warm-heart guiders of such a meaningful project "WE". I'm from China and now studying in Zhengzhou, I major in Computer science& Network technology. I'd like to meet new friends across the world( certainly they must speak Chinese or English ), But a little shy in reality. And I really want to change my personality to be more extroversion and more positive. I'm even planning a project called "personality change"( of course after I finished the training period so I have the ability to do it :)).
...And a small question, How can I change my profile image? I see people use the label [image:*.jpg], but I'm confused is the picture stored in my local computer or stored online, and how can I find the directory of the image ? for example: I have a pic named "num1" on my computer's desktop, can I use this pic to showed in my profile?
Re: Dear FangHao, for any image to be shown on page, it has to be uploaded first on Wikieducator. Once you are logged in to your account, you may see the link for "UPLOAD FILE" in the left frame. Upload the image via this link and note the file name as such as it is uploaded. after that you can insert that name in your page. Hope this helps. --R C Sharma, PhD 11:52, 1 October 2011 (UTC) Thanks for any question and have a good time !
Re: Dear Sharma, thank you very much! I've uploaded my image and trying to let it showed on this page, see if I can handle that:) --Fanghao, 22:00,1 October 2011 (UTC+8)

Re: Dear FangHao, it is good to see that you uploaded your image. I put your image on your page. please edit your infobox. Click here to see step by step process of how to add information to your infobox. Thanks,--R C Sharma, PhD 13:40, 2 October 2011 (UTC)
