Hi everybody, I am Itzel and I work at the Universidad Autonoma de Aguascalientes in Mexico as an EFL teacher, I also teach for the B.A. in English Language Teaching at the same university.

I really expect to get to know as much as I can about wikieducator so I can fully incorporate it in my classes. I think wikieducator is sucha great tool for teachers & students (I consider myself both) because you can get feedback from all people over the world so you can expand your culture, knowledge, and language. As I am a Spanish speaker I also hope to learn more about the language and its culture (not just from U.S.A. but also from all places where it is spoken).

Finally I would like to encourage my collegues to keep working on wikieducator because in this way we can definitely be in straight contact with our students and other EFL teachers or people who would like to contribute with our projects.

BEST REGARDS TO EVERYBODY AND I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO LEARNING TOGETHER! --Itzel Portal 16:19, 9 August 2010 (UTC)

In my opinion open authoring approach is a very useful tool for us because it´s the fastest way to be in touch everyybody. For living in a very busy world (if not take a look to your agenda) we do not have the time to have live discussions; for this reason we can take advantage of this approach and share ideas, materials, strategies, tips we have had good results in our teaching the goal is to work in collaborative way to have better results in students´grades so that start working!!!!!

Hello everyone!

My name is Gerardo Dueñas. I am an English teacher working at the Universidad Autónoma de Aguascalientes. It is my second year working here and I have to say that it has been such a wonderful experience to share what I know with all the students belonging to this University. I am looking forward to learning more teaching techniques and strategies to really help students overcome their needs toward the learning of a foreign language.

Hello. I'm Mircka. I'm an English teacher at the UAA. I have been giving classes since August 2003. I like to teach because it is a way to share the things that you know and you can learn a lot from the students as well. I think that this tool (Wikieducator) is going to be really helpful to share information and to improve our teaching skills.

Mircka (talk)01:35, 11 August 2010

Sharing is caring as they say, welcome Mircka!

Hello everyone, I´m Fernando Montantes. I got a BA in ELT at the Universidad Autonoma de Aguascalientes. I´m currently working as an EFL teacher at the same university. I have also some experience working with children at primary school level. My expectation in wikieducator is to learn as much as I can about this tool so I can use it regularly in my lessons. I think it is very important to know about the teaching experience of other teachers and to share expeciences with them regularly. I hope I can create and get involved in in many interesting projects to enrich my knowledge about the teaching techniques and strategies to be a better teacher.

Best regards!

Fermont (talk)01:46, 11 August 2010

I think you'll find ways to use WE both as a teacher and learner, Fernando. Welcome!

Hello:

My name is Ricardo Medina, I have been an English teacher for 23 years, I am working at the Universidad Autonoma de Aguascalientes, I expect to learn how to use this tool since it is not very easy for me to deal with computers. If this works as it is planned, will provide the educator with endless possibilities to grow. I hope it will. --Ricardomedina 14:32, 10 August 2010 (UTC)

Ricardomedina (talk)03:32, 11 August 2010

Welcome, Ricardo. The key is to ask questions. The WE workshop you are participating in this week in intended to address all the necessary questions you'll need to get started. We will be increasing knowledge of WE as we progress through the PFLE modules this semester.

Hello everyone! My name is Rosy Campos, I am B. A. in E. L. T. and I have a master in Education. I have been teaching here for almost nine years and I am happy to do so, also I work with teenagers at CECYTEA it is (bachillerato tecnológico). I hope I train enough how to use this tool this week because I don´t have this "competence" and with the "SEP REFORMA" it´s supposed we should have it. I am grateful to you because the opportunity I have to develop in this tool, wiki educator is fantastic because we can communicate with many people around the world, share experiences and learn more about the language and culture.

Rosycam (talk)04:05, 11 August 2010

Hello Rosy and welcome. It would be great to know more about the research you did for your Master's.

Hi, I'm Enid Romo I've have been teaching English at the Universidad Autonoma de Aguascalientes for 13 years!! yes, a lot! I love to do this, because students (well, most of them) are really willing to learn a second language, and I also learn from them!. as they use all the available technology, we as teachers should also know how to use it, that's why this workshop is really useful.--Enidromo 17:07, 10 August 2010 (UTC)

Enidromo (talk)06:07, 11 August 2010

Enid, congratulations on diving into WE as you have done. To date, you have more edits than anyone! Keep at it and don't hesitate to ask questions.

Hello: I am Yanahalti and I believe that using wikis is very interesting because it helps us to work together or collaboratively, as I read before the wikis can be used with different purposes it all depends on the people working with them; and if you make a mistake, do not worry about it because it can be reverted. This is my first time using wikis and there are many things that I have to learn about and from them.

Yanahalti (talk)06:15, 11 August 2010

Thanks for sharing what you found interesting in the readings and videos. And you are absolutely right about it all depending on the people who contribute to the cause. Let's put the "Fomento stamp" on content related to TESOL!

Hello!! My name is Maru and I have been working in Universidad Autonoma de Aguascalientes for 8 years. I love giving classes even when it is sometimes hard. I registered to this course because I wanted to learn how to use this website and also because nowadays technology is really important. WikiEducator is really interesting and you can learn from others, but I want to continue learnign about it. I am interested in enviromental problems, culture and traditions of other places. I am an English teacher.

Maruny025 (talk)07:37, 11 August 2010

I think WE is an ideal place for linking your interests in environmental issues and culture to TESOL. Welcome!

HeLLo!!! Well, well... I am Lolis, an English teacher at the UAA, I´ve been here for 14 years now. I love to work here. I just want to learn how to use this!!! I am not good at this kind of workshop, I´d rather to use color pens :)

LolisitaJimenez (talk)07:46, 11 August 2010

How do you feel about color text (smile)? Welcome to the workshop that encourages the use of color to brighten up one's user page!

Hello, my name is Adriana Medina Franco, I've been an English teacher at the UAA for 10 years and I'm interested in cooperative learning. Today is my first day working with wikies and I feel lost in the space, I urgently need a more simple explanation of what this is and what it is for (I know I can read all the tutorials but this way does not match my expectations and needs).  I think wikies can be useful but once they're meaningful and relevant for you; a question comes to mind does anyone use wikies in his classes?,  how does he use them?, and how does he use them for?

Adris (talk)08:19, 11 August 2010

All excellent questions Adriana. We all started feeling the same, "lost in space", but hang in there and keep asking questions. If you are interested, I'd be more than happy to explain how I am using Wikieductor this semester in my academic writing and qualitative research I courses. I bet if you post a question to the Wikieducator Group you'd receive additional examples as well.

Bnleez (talk)14:32, 11 August 2010

Can I take a look at your academic writing and qualitative research materials, Ben? Would you please e-mail me the links?

Adris (talk)07:17, 12 August 2010

Here are my two classes I'm working on this semester:

Hi Adriana!

I think that an activity using wikis in our classroom is creating a story. In this way all the students can work together in writing and they can see what's been edited; they can correct grammar and vocabulary mistakes, etc. Hope this will be useful for you!

Gisela suarez (talk)06:35, 13 August 2010

Hello everyone, my name is Alma Zaragoza and I have been teaching English for 7 years, I think wikieducators is a great oportunity to learn very very new things, techniques and ideas besides sharing a lot what people have. As adriana said I feel lost in the space but as Ben said we must keep practicing, asking and searching not only for been updated, moreover to learn how to use this interesting technology in class. I am willing to learn a lot from all of you. --Alma 12:55, 12 August 2010 (UTC)

Hi everyone!

My name is Gisela Suarez. I've been teaching english for 6 years at UAA. I also work at a private high school. I'm interested in learning new ways of applying technology in the classroom as our students are using it on a daily basis. I hope I can be WikiArtisan in a few months!! ;)--Gisela Suarez 17:28, 12 August 2010 (UTC)

Hi! I'm Ezequiel Carranza and I've been teaching for four years. I've been teaching at UAA for a whole semester and I'm looking for different ways of improving my teaching. I found really interesting and fun to teach English to different ages and levels. I think one of the things that keeps you enthusiastic about what you do is to be open to different ways of teaching. I like what I do and I'm always open to different views.

Hello, everyone. I'm Norma Rocha and I've been working as an English teacher for 8 and a half years. It has been a satisfying and challenging experience since every semester I work with new students who need my help to learn a language. I think doing a major, a master's and a diploma is not enough to facilitate learning. There are new strategies, techniques and technological resources I must learn to use to improve my teaching. I really hope to be able to use WikiEducator this semester to take advantage of it and really apply it in class. Besides, I would like to get a certification in Collaborative Learning to link it to WikiEducator.--Norma Rocha 14:21, 14 August 2010 (UTC)

Hi everyone! My name is Flor Zacarías but I'm better known as Losh. I graduated from the BA in ELT a year ago and I really enjoy teaching. I've been teaching children for 5 years and working with young adults for a year. I cannot say who I prefer (whether children or adults) because I think that students, no matter their age, teach you many things and help you grow everyday. Being teachers doesn't mean that we know everything, we learn from life and from students everyday and that's what I love about my job. Regarding wikis, I have to say that I'm not used to use them at all; however,I'd like to learn as much as I can and see how much advantage I can take from them (and from technology in general) to give better classes. I'm sure I'll need a lot of patience 'cause I get desperate easily with this issues, but I hope I learn a lot! Losh

Hello. I´m Saida Arenas and I am 28 years old. I´ve been working as a teacher ever since I was 22 years old. I really like what I do and find it very rewarding. I work with adults but I have taught kids as well. Nowadays, I coordinate a language school and teach at the UAA. I sometimes find it tirying because I work 9 hours from Monday to Friday and 6 on Saturdays but I don't see myself doing anything else I love it. I look forward to learning more from this wiki.

Saida (talk)04:10, 15 August 2010
