The OER Foundation leads innovative projects helping individuals and organisations return to the core educational values of sharing knowledge freely in a sustainable way. We:

1. Coordinate the international OER university network who will provide free learning opportunities for all students worldwide with pathways to achieve formal academic credit.
2. Connect individuals and organisations on a global scale to achieve their open education objectives with the help of WikiEducator -- one of the world's fastest growing and most productive open education wiki communities in the formal education sector.
3. Build capability and skills for educators to participate effectively in this new world through Learning4Content -- the world's largest free training project to develop wiki skills for education.
4. Provide professional consulting support including the development of OER strategy for your institution, design, mentoring and coaching services for your organisation and staff to save cost (and time), improve the quality of teaching and learning and widen the diversity of your curriculum offerings through strategic investment in open education approaches.

Planning has continued apace for an OER university with the OER Foundation organising a planning meeting of the OERu founding anchor partners in Dunedin on 9-10 November. Support from UNESCO allowed the open planning meeting to be streamed live on the web, allowing active participation from those that couldn't attend in person.

Towards an OER university: Free learning for all students worldwide. UNESCO and the OER Foundation announce a strategic international meeting to be hosted in Dunedin on 23 February to commence planning for the provision of free learning to all students worldwide. OER Foundation, leads a global education collaboration. Otago Daily Times publishes an interview with Wayne Mackintosh, founder of WikiEducator and member of the OER Foundation's board of Directors.

Jim Tittsler, joins the OER Foundation as Lead Software Engineer. Jim is a well-known member of the WikiEducator family, and has over 30 years experience in computer hardware and software design. The calibre of Jim's knowledge and experience will be invaluable for leading and supporting our technical innovations for the future.
