Susanne Pratscher

I am teaching German and Englisch in Austria. I have been a teacher at a Vienna Business School since 1980. As most of my students are in laptop classes, computer skills are important for me. I like working on the PC, drafting eLearning lessons, encouraging my students in working online etc. In Jan./Feb. I attended an online course of Integrating Technology for learning how to use Moodle, and now I would like to learn more about how to creat a Wiki.

Lorraine Lawson

Hi All, my name is Lorraine Lawson. I'm based in Cairns, Far North Queensland, Australia. I'm a curriculum writer for a new Senior Science high school course. It will be presented as a blended model online in Blackboard (similar to Moodle) and we will also use Elluminate for web-conferencing. I'm interested in sharing resources and building a network of teachers who are willing to help each other out.

(: Hi Nellie. Our students study in a distance education mode. I've converted my Science courses to online content (easy access 24/7, communication tools, quick feedback on tasks). But students cannot sit in front of the computer all day (siblings have to share computers, subjects compete for online time). I use textbooks and send assessment items to students as paper copies. They also get a paper journal to complete as they work through the course material. Web conference lessons reduce the split attention effect as the students don't have to spend so much time reading --Lorraine Lawson 22:56, 27 May 2010 (UTC))

Angela Jones

My name is Angela Jones I have been a secondary mathematics teachers for over 22 years. I have taught mathematics to students from year 7 (11years old)  through to year 13 Calculus (18 years old). I was a head of department for over 15 years and have been part of many new innovations in the teaching of mathematics in New Zealand. Most recently I have facilitated the secondary numeracy project within my school but in the last two years I have led national facilitators in their preparation of professional development for new facilitators in secondary schools. In my current position I have overseen the delivery of professional development for this project  throughout New Zealand. Prior to my current position I worked with teachers and students in the UK using skype, elluminate and moodle developing a community and building mathematics capability in preparation for running real time virtual grand prix's. I have continued to work with the presenter and facilitator in the UK from this project and presented to other teachers throughout the world on how to use the grand prix software and the benefits of real time collaboration via elluminate. I am interested in technology but also aware of the bright shiny nature of tools that can over shadow the actual purpose of teaching and learning - selection of the right platform, task and tool are essential.

Nellie Deutsch

My name is Nellie (Muller) Deutsch. My formal educational background is varied but my informal studies are even more so. I have a BA in English literature and linguistics, an MA in education specializing in curriculum and technology, and have completed a doctoral program in educational leadership specializing in curriculum and instruction at the University of Phoenix online in 2009. I have been teaching English as a foreign language for over 30 years and integrating technology into the ESL/EFL classroom since the 1990s. I have been involved in international collaborative projects and WebQuests via Moodle for the past 5 years. My first website, Nellie's English Projects was an experiment that evolved from a WebQuest and started me off as a webmistress in the days of html before web 2.0 tools. I facilitate online (Blended and full) and face-to-face workshops on how to use Wikieducator as a collaborative tool to improve instruction and learning and conduct online workshops and conferences. I also moderate live online workshops for Electronic Village Online which is a project of TESOL's CALL Interest Section, storytelling and cultures, and integration of technology and web 2.0 tools into the classroom on IT4ALL on WiZiQ.

I am passionate about learning and am currently completing my doctoral studies in educational leadership specializing in curriculum,and instruction online at the University of Phoenix and writing my dissertation. I have researched blended learning] and instructor use of technology in higher education. In my spare time, I mentor educators on how to integrate web 2.0 tools for instruction and learning. I would like to see e-learning available and free worldwide.

I am interested in collaborative and engaged learning, social networking, philosophy, mindfulness meditation practice, the Alexander Technique, art, writing and poetry. I am looking forward to collaborating with other educators on the best ways to integrate technological tools in order to facilitate and improve instruction and learning.

My name is Susanne and I work as a Business Teacher in the Tasmania Polytechnic. I developed online courses for flexible delivery, mainly in the computing area. I am looking forward to learning more about Wikis and their use in an online learning environment. Adelina Moura

My name is Adelina and I'm a Portuguese teacher and a teacher training, in Web 2.0 and Web 2.0 mobile tools. I teach Portuguese and French languages in a secondary school and I have about 30 years of teaching experience. At this moment I'm finishing my PhD thesis in Mobile Learning area. Soaad Hamed

Hello, I am Egyptian living in Cairo. I hold a BA in English literature and linguistics. I am a TEFL certified but i dont teach English any more now. I have attended also Lancelot course which was so impressive and made me discover a lot about Education technology and how to make use of it. I have started teaching Arabic for the non speakers about 4 years ago. I started teaching online in late 2007 on [Myngle]. It was almost my first real encounter with a virtual world. Few months later, I have joined Myngle team as an Education Assistant to train the new teachers to use the platform. I have started my website (www.virtualarabic.net) recently where i publish my audio lessons that I have created last year, I am still testing them so feel free to learn some Arabic for free ;). I am so enthusiastic about this workshop, I only have a basic knowledge with the wiki but I learn fast. Thanks

I’m Victor Hugo Rojas, associate professor of language teacher education at UNE & UNMSM in Lima, Peru. I have over 24 years of experience; teaching at schools, pedagogical institutes, language centres, and universities. Nowadays, I currently train pre- and in- service English teachers. Also, I’ve attended conferences, congresses, and workshops on ELT around Perú and abroad. As a course developer, I’ve applied my beginner knowledge of Web 2.0, Personal Learning Networking, and e-learning in developing my courses using Moodle, Blogger, Twitter, etc. About this course, I’d like to learn and improve new ways of integrating technologies, using Wikis, to elaborate, deliver, and evaluate distance and blended EFL teachers training courses.

Reiner Schmidt

Hello :-) My name is Reiner Schmidt and I'm engaged in different working fields here in the city of Munich, Germany. For 5 years I'm helping children (age 7-12) with migrant background doing their homework, 3 days a week in a organisation called "Kinderschutz e.V." (protection for children).
Being a proponent of Free Software and Creative Commons, I'm very interested in combining wikis and free (open) content, or even producing content for free linuxbased educational software.
Other activities are in environmental lifestyle-questions, tahiti-project or transition town movement, which often are combined with networking via internet.
I'm looking forward to advance my wiki-skills, get new ideas for blended learning and find comrades on the road to worldwide open society and shared knowledge.

Hákon Már

Hi everybody. My name is Hákon Már Oddsson and I am a full time teacher since 2002 of Film and Multimedia in a secondary vocational school Borgarholtsskóli (BHS) in Iceland. I got a teachers diploma 2005. Graduated from San Francisco Art Institute with a BFA in Film making 1982. Worked 20 years making films and TV, mostly as director/producer making TV fast food for networks like National Broadcast in Iceland but also Tele Monte Carlo in Rome and others. Currently enrolled as a M.Ed student at Iceland University with a specialization in Information technology and media. Use Moodle in all my courses at BHS but at University they use mostly Blackboard. Hello, everyone! I am involved in corporate training, with emphasis on leadership and interpersonal skills. I live in San Diego, California. I hope to gain insight into the use of wikis as an educational tool that creates involvement. One of my concerns is the learning curve people need to go through to make a wiki work, which may discourage many students... I use blended learning a lot, with emphasis on live online training.

At the beginning, I had to run around the computer lab to locate the students who would be my helpers. Hello all, I am teacher and a teacher trainer from Nigeria presently a post graduate student (M A TESOL & ICT)at the University of Leeds, UK.
