http://archive.wired.com/science/discoveries/news/2006/05/70908

The above article consists of evidence against that was brought against AT&T, which wire-tapped one of their rooms locally here in San Francisco. The article states that they were ordered to do so by the NSA although there are not too many exact specifics on this, for obvious reasons. Whilst the article may be a bit astray at first glance, we think it brings to light a great discussion and issue that is widely debated in society and is an excellent resource for our class.

The main issue here is one of morality; is it more important to ensure our privacy, or to keep us and the rest of our country as safe as possible? There is no correct answer to this as we will all have differing opinions, however it is a great discussion topic with much room to develop and learn from those around us who have diversified views, which is why we have chosen it for our article.

http://pubs.acs.org/subscribe/archive/ci/31/i07/html/07legal.html

This article talks about how to keep the right to privacy in a company for both the employee and the employer. We ask you if you think it is possible to have same level of privacy between employee and employer in a company? In the article, Eric, the author, states that individuals need to be responsible enough to know their policies and be protective of themselves, as the company must abide by explicit guidelines that may undermine what you consider to be your deserved amount of privacy. We found this an intriguing point and enjoyed the opinions and questions this article brings to light.

http://www.forbes.com/sites/jessicahagy/2011/11/30/how-to-be-interesting/

It discusses the experience a young boy had when he muttered these words in class and his teacher informed him how in a world so full of information and adventure, how can you ever be bored of it?

We live in an era of increasing and tremendous intelligence, with so much left to be discovered and this link makes one reconsider all the specific examples in which we have muttered these letters. Toray is changing the world with their desalination program aimed at providing water to those in dire need.

http://thewaterproject.org

With so many problems already existing in the world, this resource is a key factor in providing relief to one certain problem in the world, clean water.  As a first world country we always put enough thought into the topic.  In third world counties, this is an everyday problem which we as a society should help put efforts into fixing.  We picked this resource because the answer to clean water does exist through technology.  The word just has to be spread.

http://www.toray-watertreat.com/seawater/

Another method technology has created to provide clean water is the ability to convert seawater into drinkable water.  We feel that this, if applied properly, this could be an excellent concept to help places in the most dire need drinkable water in order to save lives, the perfection depiction in our team's eyes of what technology can do for us. What is so profound about this device is that it requires astronomically less energy making it more cost-efficient, which will be best for the locations that can benefit the most from these tools.

http://www.theatlantic.com/technology/archive/2015/10/americans-are-more-afraid-of-robots-than-death/410929/

We enjoyed this article gives an intriguing insight as to why we so gravely fear technology, and that is mainly due to the fact that we are afraid of things we "depend on but don't have any control over". Technology has made such immense advances that the average citizen (in developed countries) relies so greatly on technology, whether they support it or not. Robots, the technology with arguably the most room for advancement, have seemingly been tapped as the face of this enemy. The article brings to light an idea that people are more intimidated by technology as opposed to the fear they place in dying. Their reasoning behind this is that technology is seen in almost all aspects of life in modern societies and therefore is more prominent to greater numbers of people of all ages. Whilst dying is only thought about mostly by those who are close to it.

We found it an interesting article whether we agree with it or not necessarily.

A diagram of lungs being converted to what are defined as "chip organs"

We truly enjoyed this article as it discusses the possibilities of replacing real organs for chips that have all the same organ benefits, but are made completely of technology. Quite an amazing feat if this turns out to become a practical alternative. This could realistically put an end to these never-ending wait lists where human beings have to wait for extended periods of time in order to see if they will be able to receive a life-saving organ. This technology has the capabilities to revolutionize the world and it is surprising that we have not heard more about this as it can be such an incredible device.

The article includes pictures that give a better understanding of what the device/chip will look like as well as a description of what each facet of the device is necessary for.

http://www.futureforall.org/futureofmedicine/medical_technology.htm

Current advancements in medical technology. This article has sources with regenoration with organs. This type of technology is a game changing advancement in medical technology. Not only will lives be saved but people will be able to live longer. It can be debatable that this type of technology is playing God and will take alott of bad publicity in the news. It comes down to how responsible the person holding the technology is to the overall well being of the human race.
