Day 2 is a relaxed and easy session, so you will have time to catch up if you've fallen a little behind. If you get stuck or have any questions feel free to post these in Wiki Questions & Support page.
Today's task is simple: personalizing your account preferences on WikiEducator and learning a bit about us.
Instructions
Day 2 is a relaxed and easy session. There are no online discussion activities for today - so you will have time to catch up if you've fallen a little behind. If you get stuck or have any questions -- feel free to post these in the discussion forum or on the wiki question and support page.
- 1. Work through Help page My preferences on how to personalize Wikieducator preferences.
- 2. Now that you have editing rights in WikiEducator, have a bash at introducing yourself on the workshop Introductions thread -- If you're not sure how to get this right, don't worry we'll spend more time tomorrow looking at the basics of wiki editing. A tip -- wiki's are about experimentation and trying new things -- have fun! If you get stuck, we'll help you.
- 3. Visit following Wikieducator portals:
- WikiEducator Home Page
- OER Foundation. (in progress)
- 4. If you are a first time user, we have a favor to ask: To provide all our new users with the optimal service, we would appreciate it very much, if you could complete an approximately 5-minutes survey. Thank you in advance for doing the online survey.
Some participants have already started adding to WikiDiscussion pages, please post replies to them. These pages are designed to host your thoughts, comments and feedback regarding to specific topics while practicing your wiki skills :-)
Have fun! If you get stuck, we'll help you. Here is a tip: when editing, please take a look at the codes others are using for formatting text and images, try to replicate the codes in your editing... it works for any WikiEducator page.
