At the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Describe the history and development of the internet
  • Describe the underlying structure and protocols of the internet
  • Identify and describe the role of the web browser
  • Describe internet hardware/software and connection options
  • Describe and assess security and legal issues, including: copyright, privacy and fair use
  • Demonstrate an understanding of Internet culture and etiquette
  • Use current Internet tools to send and receive information
  • Develop web pages using HTML, CSS and other scripting languages
  • Demonstrate the use of a web authoring package
  • Demonstrate the principals of effective web design
  • Demonstrate the use of multimedia elements in a web page
  • Use a suitable design methodology to create a website to meet a clients needs
