Mathematics community

Hi Godfred,

I noticed that you are working on adding statistics content to WE. I've also been working on statistics. We have that in common :).

A few months ago I started a math community, at WikiEducator:Mathematics Community. (But then I got too busy to promote it.) I'm suggesting that we maintain a list of people who are interested in math. Please add your name. This will be a good place for us to discuss issues related to math, e.g., in the discussion tab at the math community page.

I've also created the page Portal:Mathematics as an organizer for our work in mathematics.

And as we get larger, maybe we'll want to break off into a Statistics community--something to look forward to.

Hope to see you there soon.

Alison

Congratulations

Hi Godfred,

Congratulations on being awarded WikiApprentice Level 2. I noted that you suggested Level 1 in your entry on the request for certification page, but you are clearly more skilled than that. Your skill at wiki coding is impressive for having opened your account only a month ago.

Don't hesitate to contact me if you have questions.

All the best, Alison

Hi Alison,

I shall inform you when we start the distance learning. How do I get the wikineighbour template on my user page? I used the syntax, but it did not come in my infobox.

Your wikineighbour, Godfred

Hi Godfred,

We use the wikineighbour template, Template:User_WikiNeighbour, to add a "WikiNeighbour" box to a page, usually a userpage. Generally speaking wikieducators add these boxes to their Template:Infobox personal.

There are a number of boxes which can be added to the infobox. To add the WikiNeighbour box, use the syntax:

|Boxes = {{User_WikiNeighbour}}

within the list of attributes included in the infobox personal template. The result is a template (wikineighbour template) within a template (infobox personal). The attributes do not need to be in any particular order, so feel free to put the boxes code at the end of the listing. Be sure to put the beginning pipe, "|", on the very left edge of the edit window.

Let me know if you have any issues with this, Alison

Hi Alison,

I have got it by following the instructions you gave. Thanks very much. Please, who are wikieducators?

Godfred.
