Professional background
By profession, I am a Socialogist. I studied rural and urbal sociaology at the University of Zambia. I like my profession because it gives me an opportunity to know more about rural and urban societies, how societies behave and why they behave the way they do. This is also why I enjoy my work to deal with women entrepreneurs both in urban and rural areas. The way they do and manage their businesses has inclinations to the dynamics of societies.
However, before I went to the University, I went to the Natural Resources Development College (NRDC) where I did my Diploma in Agricultural Business Management (ABM) from 19712-1976. This was the time when NRDC was one of the few colleges if not the best college in Zambia which every young Zambian would love to go to. It was a college which was self sustaining with very good facilities for students in terms of accommodation, food and environment. It was a college of plenty where students used to bath in milk with 3 course meals of one's choice. It was far much better than UNZA. Our group was the first group to receive UNZA Diplomas when we graduated in 1996.
Of course, I have also done other courses such as Certificate in Development Planning and Women at ESAMI, Njiro Hill, Arusha, Tanzania and those shown in the table bellow:
Level obtained | Field | College/University |
---|---|---|
Diploma | Cooperative Management | Moscow Cooperative Institute, Moscow, USSR |
Certificate | Distance Education | University of London, London, UK |
(: Hi Elizabeth, i must say this is very good work. working with table is not very easy for most people but you have inserted a table and done it very well. congratulations! --Brian.sikute 14:10, 15 September 2010 (UTC))
Education
The highest level that I reached in my education is Grade 12/Form 5 which is the highest level in Secondary school. I completed my Grade 12 in 1972 at Choma Secondary School in Southern Province. I started my education in Sub A-Standard 4 in (now I do not even remember the year when I started) at Luyaba G. R. Z. in MOnze District. Then I went to Macha Mission school, Choma District in Southern province for my Grade V-VII where I wrote Grade VII exams and passed to go to Secondary at Choma secondary School.
My interests
Professional
I like working with projects/programmes for women and young people (female and male) because young people are always linked to the mothers. I am interested mobilizing women and young and bring them together in informal or fomal groups/associations/coopeartive societies to identify their challenges/problems, guide them to come with possible solutions, guide them to iplement possible interventions untill they solve their problems. Therafter, I am interested to see them graduate from working with others and stand on their own as individuals to do things for themselves, with thei familieis and ven for their communities. ...
Personal
I personal interestes are (i) being a role model for my children and I think I am progressing well in this line, (ii)to help and save the need in my capacity as one of the senior Lions in Zambia (3) farming and business in general and (4)music and gpoing to church..
