About Egara Kabaji

I was born in a small village called Navuhi in Western Province of Kenya. Navuhi is about 420 km from Nairobi, the Capital city of Kenya. I remember my life in Navuhi village with nostagia. Those memories form the raw material from which I write fiction.

Schooling

I started school at Chango primary School. I passed my primary school exams and joined Vihiga High School before proceeding to Chavakali High School for "A" level. I joined Kenyatta University for my undergraduate studies in 1985.

After graduating with a BED degree in 1988, I taught at Moi Girls High shool(Kamusinga) before quiting to rejoin Kenyatta University for my post graduate studies. I obtained a Masters degree in 1993. Later I joined the University of South Africa (UNISA)where I graduated with a PhD degree. Currently, I am a professor at Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology.http://www.mmust.ac.ke

As noted earlier, I am a writer. I have published well over ten books. And yes, I am married and I have a number of children. I cannot say how many they are because that goes against our culture.
