Re: Learning design templates; logical structure

Hi Pankaj,

I notice your SLM template ~ nice looking graphics....

You may be interested (and not know about) the Otago Polytechnic Page Generator....

http://www.wikieducator.org/Template:Otago_Page_Generator

It is very cool...try it out!

In the New Year, the community will begin to talk about "logical structure" on WikiEd, and what we can do to reduce duplication....so that AS we are all working towards the same goal, we are doing things that are in line with that, and do different things to complement each other, not necessarily reinvent the wheel. This will be an important discussion for our success!

Pankaj & Randy: There's more info on how to do this at: Automated Page Creation.

Brent and Randy

I could do it. Please check Project_Templates. Seeking comments/suggestions. Please do not type "Media" as first word in the inputbox, it invoke some other template.

Thanks Randy and Brent...

We have gone throuh all the pages on Automated Pages and OP Generator earlier also. The problem is that it gives only three types in inputbox....create, comment and search. Our idea was to get the text inputting in the template where we want that the participant should put the text. We have also tried "preload"... but it open-up complete syntax of the template...

That is why decided to cretae a template within which more templates are used. The text inputting can be done by starting with "|".

We are still experimenting and you will see it on Wiki. Any comments or suggestions?

Hi Pankaj,

Great set of templates evolving for your project!

You may want to play around with creating a print specific template for the ones you've created. At the moment our wiki ==> pdf generator does not do a good job of parsing html..

Here is some info on creating print specific templates:

http://groups.google.com/group/wikieducator/browse_thread/thread/01ab9d491f7bcc6e

Or compare:

Template:Objectives with

Template:Objectives_print

BTW -- the Write2Teach materials are also a valuable addition to the WE project!

Wayne, thanks for suggestions. In fact, we two, Sanjaya and me are working together to attain the desired outcomes while practicing through Learning Templates (intentionaly word "Peadgogical" avoided; :)).

We could make use of PDF aggregator, successful...after removing HTML tags...this really works and we are loaded with lot many thoughts...(wild?? (smile)). Good thing for us.

Yeah, we discovered something strange while using inputbox in Project_Templates of BOU Project. Whenever we are inputting "Media" as first word to creat a page, it preloads some other Template than the defined Template. What could be the reason?
