How do you post?
I am trying to figure out how to post on the introduce yourself section? I did once and it didn't work out too well. I deleted it. - Heather
Re: Hi Heather. First you need to be logged in. This will put an edit link on the right of each of the sections. Then choose one of the entries you like the look of and click edit next to the title of that entry. In the edit box at the bottom of the other persons entry add the heading ==yourname==, then something about yourself. (Actually all you do is copy what the other person has done with your details.. :) ) -Mverhaart 01:37, 29 April 2011 (UTC)
What are discussion pages for?
Discussion pages are often used to allow people to discuss changes before making amendments to the actual page especially if the changes are very public. You can see the discussion pages being used in Wikipedia. --Mverhaart 01:40, 29 April 2011 (UTC)
Use of Wikis in Research
My comments? Well, I am interested in this Learning 4content workshop. Yet I am still a novice at it and really dont know where and what to do. Please help. NIMS Mrs. NIrmala Parameswaran)
{Dear Nims, Just follow the instructions closely that are coming to your email inbox every day, and this step by step. You will automatically get there. Don't feel frustrated because you can't do a few things yet, you will learn all of it this week and will realise that it is easier than you think. Warm wishes--Patricia Schlicht 16:19, 1 May 2011 (UTC)}}

Where can I find teaching material?
- Hello everyone, I think I do not understand the structure of wikieducator well enough. I teach physics, and I would like to find lesson plans, worksheet or similar things, and for the learning contract, I was thinking I might try to make a lesson plan or a worksheet. Are the materials on the sites of different schools? How are they organized? Best regards,
--Gudny Gudmundsdottir 21:02, 2 May 2011 (UTC)
Re: Liebe Gudny, Guten Tag! The content in WikiEducator is organised in a way where you can provide links to any content either as an internal or external link. Internal links take the visitor to the content within the Wikieducator whereas external links lead one to outside sites. Preparing lesson plan for Physics is a good idea and pl proceed for that. With regards, Ramesh Sharma 20:52, 3 May 2011 (UTC)
(: Hello Gudny, you may like to see this example for a lesson plan from Physics on Sound Waves. Ramesh Sharma 20:56, 3 May 2011 (UTC))
(: Hello Mr. Sharma, Thank you for the link. When I search for "lesson plans" very few things come up. I am afraid that if I make a page with a lesson plan, that is not connected to any project, it will never be found and never be of use to anyone. Would there maybe be a need for a page called "lesson plans" or "physics resources"? Or is the plan that with time you can search for a certain subject and find educational resources that include that word? I know how the links work, but I do not understand how the structure will help teachers find and share resources. Best regards, --Gudny Gudmundsdottir 22:06, 3 May 2011 (UTC))
Re: Hello Gudny, thanks. I agree with your points. Actually there are various ways to achieve that. I prefer that you create separate (subpage) for anything you wish to have it prominently known to others. Then use relevant title (page title: like Lesson Plan for Velocity...). You can give publicity to your pages too by having a link in your signature file. see this example done by my colleague,
Kalpana S Gupte Dy. Director, IGNOU RC Pune. see http://wikieducator.org/Learner_Guide_for_IGNOU_Distance_learners see http://wikieducator.org/User:Kalpanagupte This page is the UPE Award Winner for March 2011
To help teachers and students find and share resource, you can let them know about your page. Spread a word through other media like a news on your FB page etc. Hope this helps. All the best, -Ramesh Sharma 16:57, 6 May 2011 (UTC)

Choice of topic ?
It is about choice of topic under learning contract .After going through instructions I could not decide .After going through annual report of OER foundation I highly appreciate that acute shortage of resources are exploited optimally. For this reason I desire to devote my time for education. I convinced that to spread awareness about OER is as important as creating digital content of high quality. So if such topic is workable, suggestions are requested.

Re: Dear Harbans Ji, Thanks for sharing your idea of your project. I agree with you that spreading awareness about OERs is very important. Please formulate your project by explaining how you wish to achieve that! Wishing you the best, Ramesh Sharma 20:48, 3 May 2011 (UTC)

NIMS Mrs. Nirmala Parameswaran's Remarks
Hello everyone, Guess I reached day four and am still surviving. Learnt things the hard way, that is try and try and try. That is the secret. I must confess that it is a long way that I have come since day one. Take care and God bless, --NIMS Mrs. Nirmala Parameswaran) 16:07, 2 May 2011 (UTC) NIMS. (Mrs. Nirmala Parameswaran.)
Workshop outcome Hello everyone, Guess I am doing the right thing. I am supposed to edit this page and I am doing so. What do I write? I just would like some one or the other to write in to me and tell me if what I am doing is right. Then I can proceed with a clear vision. Please some one tell me. Regards, NIMMI. (Mrs. Nirmala Parameswaran)
Hello Everyone, So this is it. I am finding each page and just editing. This is fun. maybe I might get it right. This morning I had a batch of around forty students for the camp and it was fun. A round of English grammar, followed by brain gym exercises, then role play and chart work. We did have a short break with biscuits and soft drinks. NIMMI. (Mrs. Nirmala Parameswaran)
{Reply }: Thanks for enjoying sharing your activities. Learning is itself enjoyful as you have proved by your struggling life.

- Re: See your userpage, I have tried helping you with the image.--Dr. Gita Mathur 16:08, 4 May 2011 (UTC)
Reply ]: Thanks Dr. Gita Mathur for immediate attending my problem but it is with my photograph image which is not at poper place in my sand box or being deleted
--Harbans Singh 16:53, 4 May 2011 (UTC)
- Harbans, you need to delete the code from the page to remove the image from your sandbox. Try it.--Dr. Gita Mathur 03:12, 5 May 2011 (UTC)
- Dr Mathur ji: tried to find "code" from my sand box but plan did not work It is favour to me if i could get deleted one photohraph wtith some hints Inconvenience is regretted.
--Harbans Singh 12:43, 5 May 2011 (UTC)
Re: Dear Harbans ji, pl see your sandbox. I have tried to put them in one sequence. The code is for gallery. See the code and use it for your photo gallery. One problem I noticed is the scan of your image. You seem to scan the whole page on which your photo was placed. You may like to 'crop' the image so that the extra white space is removed. Rest you need to resize the image appropriately so that they look like of same size. Tell me if thats is what you wanted to do? --R C Sharma, PhD 17:13, 6 May 2011 (UTC)
Tips for Image upload
- (: Try uploading a photo, follow the tutorial & you will enjoy when the photograph appears on your uerpage. Do not use the image name as the automatic code given by the camera. Rename the photo on your computer & then upload. For more tips click here.Warm wishes,--Dr. Gita Mathur 03:03, 5 May 2011 (UTC))
Linking with a page from a picture
08-05-11
Hi, everyone, I tried to link a wikipage from a png or jpg picture. By clicking on the picture, the document or the link page should be opened. But, instead, the picture which was taken from Media commons is being opened and after one or two trials, the name of the file which should be linked also disappear from the picture when you keep the mouse near to that picture. I want to link documents from pictures. What is the procedure? --Dr. K S Ramakrishnan 15:03, 8 May 2011 (UTC)
