It has been a privilege to see how one country after another has made use of this technology to make a difference in their own environment.
WikiEducator has become the most exciting experience of my professional career. I am passionate about learning. I actively facilitate online workshops on WikiEducator as community voluneer in my spare time, in an attempt to build capacity for WikiEducator around the globe. I am interested in social networking, culture/anthropology, open and distance learning/eLearning, community and capacity building. I am a philanthropist.

Claire Buist
I am a teacher and team leader at a Year 0 - Year 6 primary school. I have enjoyed using wikispaces and recently blogs with the children that I work with. They have responded to the world of web 2 with a vengeance and see it as a meaningful way to share their writing, learning and points of view with the world. It is the discussions and the diverse audience that has really hooked them in!
I am looking forward to using WE because of the pure collaborative nature of it and believe it can only enhance and deepen my teaching and learning
experiences!

I am a communicator who knows close to knowing about wikispaces, but I want to learn. I guess we're learning how to edit a page before actually creating one? As you can see, I'm truly in the dark here! In addition to wanting to know about wikispaces from a professional standpoint, I think it would be an enriching social opportunity for some of the computer-geek type teenagers with autism that I work with.--Cduren 15:15, 19 January 2010 (UTC)

My name is Simona and I am a college freshman majoring in Biochemistry. I'm getting involved with WikiEducator because I've just joined a non-profit translating organization that utilizes WikiEducator. I am Verbena, a lecturer in Spanish methodology at the Cryil Potter College of Education in Guyana. Last year I was introduced to the world of Web 2.0 technology and the concept of ITC through an online workshop sponsored by the OAS. I see this training programme as an opportunity to further my knowledge in this area through the use of collaborative technology - a feature of web 2.0.

When I have completed this exercise I expect to be more informed about using wikis and applying them in the classroom to enrich teaching-learning experiences, to recognize the important contributions made by OER to effective and efficient teaching and learning, to be better equipped to support colleagues as they seek to infuse technology in their teaching practice. --Kholekha 00:14, 20 January 2010 (UTC)

Hello all, I am Nancy I am an education consultant for "Hector's World Ltd which provides free resources to educators to help them promote the concept of digital citizenship with young students. I have many years experience as a classroom teacher and a professional development coordinator
I am excited about the potential Web2 brings to classrooms and how technology is providing flexible learning opportunities. It certainly has for me. I am looking forward to exploring the use of WikiEducator in providing professional learning opportunities and professional discussion about digital citizenship. Hello everybody,
I am Rajesh, a teacher in The Doon School, Dehradun, India. I teach Physics to students aged 11-18 and I am also taking IB higher/standard level. I have been updating myself in new technology frequently to keep abreast of the latest happenings in the field of education. I think in today's world open resources are extremely important for students and wikis are one such fine example. I am just testing this out to see if I can get it right! I already introduced myself for Day 1 but again, I am Marsha Guthrie and I am from the island of Jamaica. I currently live in the island of Barbados and teach part-time at the local community college. Hello!
My name is Ana Pinto-Ferreira, I'm 31 and I live in Porto, Portugal. I am an anesthesiologist, with no professional interest in WikiEducator. But, in my spare time, I do translation work for the United Nations Online Volunteering Website. Among others, I have worked with the Community Empowerment Website. At first, they used CatsCradle but, in June 2009, they started using WikiEducator. That's why I want to be a part of this workshop!

Hello Wiki Neighbours!
I am Alison, working in skills development at the Commonwealth of Learning. I have recently moved to Canada after 13 years living and working in Africa. I have been working in distance education since the early 90s and try to keep up with all the new methodologies and technologies (and all the other ~ologies!)
I joined this workshop to give me focussed time on learning to work within a wiki - as part of my own professional development and to share with colleagues. I'm sure I'll learn a lot if only I can put in enough time!Alisonmead 23:59, 23 January 2010 (UTC)

Krishna Alluri
I am Krishna Alluri and my educational background is in Agriculture. i started as an agricultural researcher in India. Later i went on to be associated with the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI), Philippines and with the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), Nigeria. Both IRRI and IITA are among the 15 international agricultural research centers of the Consortium Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR). The CGIAR Mission is to achieve sustainable food security and reduce poverty in developing countries through scientific research and research-related activities in the fields of agriculture, forestry, fisheries, policy, and environment.
Following my work at IRRI and IITA, i joined the Commonwealth of Learning (COL), Vancouver. At the end of 2008 i retired from COL, as Education Speacialist for Food Security and Environment and Team Leader, Learning for Livelihoods. Since then i have been professionally involved in international development activities that span around development of concept notes and project proposals, monitoring and evluation and reviews of agricultural research, education and technology-mediated learning activities.
Socially, i enjoy outdoor activities including, walking, hiking, golf and tennis. In-door activities include aerobics, pranayana (breathing based yoga exercises), and playing bridge game. I also like table tennis and pool games.
I believe in the WikiEducator approach and in the benefits from open education resources, which are likely to be on the increase. i am glad to be a member of the community of WikiEducators and life long learners.--Krishnaalluri 15:38, 29 January 2010 (UTC)
