- Thompson Rivers University, in Kamloops BC is hosting a FREE three-day workshop, Research 2.0: New Technologies for Scholarship. The workshop will take place from Aug. 31 to Sept. 2 at Thompson Rivers University, in Kamloops BC. Dr. Wayne Mackintosh (September 2) and Nellie Deutsch (September 1) will be presenting. Nellie's workshop will be conducted live online on September 1, 2009 and will be available for all participants around the world. In this seminar Gladys Gahona and Nellie Deutsch will introduce us to the many opportunities available to educators to learn from others, to collaborate on curriculum projects, and to explore new technologies that will improve educational access and quality. Please join us on WikiEducator and add your contribution to the seminar.
Randy Fisher will lead a tour of WikiEducator on Elluminate. This field trip is organized jointly by SCoPE, a BCcampus online community, and CPSquare, a community of practice for people interested in communities of practice. For the presentation and discussions about WikiEducator we are the 'CP4' model, developed by the US Military, using 4 overlapping elements to describe a community's purpose: Content, Connections, Conversation and Context. - The WikiEducator Workgoup for proposing policies and guidelines for Administrator and Sysop users has voted for its charter in the first session of its asynchronous meeting ended on 04/08/2009. Immediately after approving the charter, the Second Session of the meeting has started today to develop and approve draft policies and guidelines.
- A Sloan-C consortium - Learning4Content collaborative online workshop is scheduled to be conducted from 27 July to 8 August 2009 for Sloan-C's college pass members. In the spirit of WikiEducator's free skills training, the invitation is also extended to all your colleagues, friends, and family. Please spread the word and invite folk to register
- Online consultation on the Strategy of the Open Education Resource Foundation (OERF) has commenced and continues on the talk page
