My Professional Background
Myself Savitha Harish from God's own Country... Cochin, Kerala.. Iam quite new to the world of WIKI OER foundation..I have just completed CIDTT(Cambridge International Diploma for Teachers and Trainers) from the University of Cambridge. My passion for teaching led me to take B.Ed . Afterwards, I joined the University of Kerala and did MA in English Language and Literature.My regular teaching career started in 2002 as a Communicative English Teache. During my career I had attended various Faculty Development Programmes. I am an active member of FETE, an association of English Teachers formed to promote the linguistic potential of Higher Secondary level learners. This is the eighth delightful year of my teaching profession during which period; I had the enriching experience of teaching learners in different strata of the society.. I joined here mainly for expanding my knowledge of practical teaching in the international arena. Apart from teaching,I like to inculcate moral values to school children...
My dream is to become an International educator and Toronto is the stumptuous city of my dreams....

MY TEACHING CAREER

Iam proud being an Indian Educator. I work in Sree Narayana Dharma Paripalana Yogam School, Ernakulam, Kerala.This is a 61 years old educational institution formed under the inspiration of the great social reformer and eduactional visionary of India, Sree Narayana Guru.He has been credited with transforming the social fabric of Kerala.
Enlighten oneself through education is our school motto..We give top priority to the upliftment of our society through educational and cultural activities.Most of the learners are from adjacent suberban and village areas.They belong to different socio-economic backgrounds.The total strength of the school is 2500, from grade v -xii.The school focus on the social, intellectual, mooral and physical development of the children.The school is situated on the premice of an ancient temple which provides a serene atmosphere conductive for teaching and learning. The medium of instructions are both English(grade xi & xii) and Malayalam(both languages) Hindi, Sanskrit, Urudu are the other languages taught here. Visits to the ancient Indian temples ...a great source of relaxation & mental rejuvanation..these are the ceteres of culture, art,religion and unity...I often visit temples..
