My profile

My name is Jacobs Nkem. I am 43 years old and male. I very much enjoy any community of people where teaching and learning takes place because I strongly believe that ignorance is the biggest challenge of the world today.

Professional background

At various times, I have been a teacher, journalist, researcher, public relations practitioner and banker (in the last 11 years. I was trained in diverse disciplines including journalism, public relations, information systems management and marketing. At present I work as Product Manager in the Retail Banking Strategic Business Unit of one of Nigeria's first generation banks. I am also studying for a Masters Degree in Media Enterprise at the Pan African University, Nigeria's closest equivalent to an Ivy League School. I am interested in taking up a career in teaching/research in the next few years.

I am privileged to have received formal training in diverse disciplines including Journalism (Diploma - Nigerian Institute of Journalism), Public Relations (Diploma - Business Education Examinations Council), Information Systems Management (APtech) and Marketing(undergraduate - Enugu State University of Science & Technology; and graduate - University of Nigeria).
