Career
I have worked for over twenty-five years in the field of education and training, specialising in:
- open and distance learning,
- community education with disadvantaged men,
- adult literacy & basic education.
Although I was born in the USA, I moved to Ireland in 1981 after four years with the Peace Corps in Nepal. Between 1994 and 2002, I worked as a Technical Advisor to the Ministry of Education in Namibia, assisting in the establishment of the Namibian College of Open Learning (NAMCOL) and the Namibian Open Learning Network (NOLNet).
Goals
My interest in WikiEducator is linked to a workshop I facilitated on behalf of the Commonwealth of Learning on Costs and Finances for Open Schools in Gabarone, Botswana in August 2007.
The plan is to convert the content of this training into self-instructional materials for WikiEducator. You can see the progress we have made so far by checking out the Open Schools page in WikiEduator.
