My name is Annie
I am currently working with the Commonwealth Secretariat, Africa Regional Centre and I enjoy my job because it gives me an opportunity to make a passionate contribution to the advancement of Youth empowerment in all sectors of Young people’s development. I contribution to programme implementation through planning, assessing and follow-up for the three programme areas, Governance Development and Youth Networks, Youth Work Education and Training and Youth Enterprise and Sustainable Livelihoods.

The Commonwealth Youth Programme Regional Centre for Africa joins the rest of the world in celebrating the International Youth Year through it's Regional Youth Caucus Representatives (RYCs) who will organise various activities as a team as well as individuals in their respective countries to demonstrate the important role of young people in making our society a better place. The Commonwealth, with half of its population being under 25 years of age has a major role to play in empowering young with entrepreneurial skills to enable the majority became job creators unlike job seekers ; we view the young people as a force for consensus building and powerful drivers of peace. CYP attaches great importance to youth development and this explains why we are the only inter Governmental Agency exclusively dedicated to youth issues.
