Adult Education Goals

Jump to: navigation, search

I would like to initiate a discussion regarding the goals of adult education. As adults, what do you hope to get out of a class, besides the credits? Regardless of the course content, what expectations do you have?

I hope to gain access to resources and incorporate that information with my existing knowledge, or use it to challenge that schema. I look forward to sharing my experiences, while others share theirs, and together expand their meaning. I am constantly looking for application of ideas from classes into my work, research, life, etc. I appreciate being acknowledged, validated, and challenged. How about you?

How are we accomplishing this for our students?

Hi Jodie,

You might want to post this on the Teacher Collaboration Portal on WikiEducator and its forum. http://www.wikieducator.org/Teacher_Collaboration. It comes with an invitation to join the group of over 900 educators, so let me know, and I'll send you an invite. Might be worth doing, to involve even more educators. Cheers, Patricia Schlicht

Thanks Patricia,

That would be great. The more the better. My web voice is very quiet right now:) Hopefully that will change with time.Jhemerda 03:42, 4 August 2009 (UTC)
