Suggested teaching and learning activity 1Evaluate using learning intentionsPurpose: to develop learning intentions for use in framing and evaluating teaching and learning. After input (see link,www.tki.org.nz) create learning intentions for a future teaching session based on allocated topics, eg. the Write to Communicate learning progressions for vocabulary, language and text features etc. Develop methods for tutors and learners to evaluate their teaching and learning using the learning intentions.

8.3 Evaluation compares learning achievement to identified literacy needs.
8.4 Evaluation confirms effectiveness of assessment methods.
8.5 Information from evaluation informs planning for educator professional development and learner skill development.
8.6 Evaluation includes critical reflection on the effectiveness of teaching strategies.
