Hi,

I've had a play with your Template:APA_Book

So here is the example, click on edit to view the syntax:

Mackintosh, Wayne (2007). Testing APA template, Vancouver: WikiEducator.

The template would still nead a little tweaking for layout etc - but nonetheless demonstrates how templates work if you're inclined to play with this feature.

Mackiwg (talk)05:26, 21 October 2007

Thanks Wayne, what a great help. I will try something else...

Dear sanjay sir,
With good morning I want to communicate that you have given us the opportunity that is providing us with the experiences beyond imagination (particularly so quickly). Many many thanks to IGNOU- STRIDE and you for organizing this workshop. I have decided to prepare my SLM on Educational Research Mrthodology as I think that I will do that beeter.Basically I am student of Philosophy of Education, vocational Guidance and Special Education.I am teaching PG and UG classes here in the depaetment of education. We are facing the problem of low quality both of students and teachers as well. There are fifteen teachers in my department including four professors, seven readers and four lecturers. We all are over burdened. This is because our department is for running M.Ed. and B.Ed. courses but we are also running MA (Education) and BA (education)for last fifteen years. . That is why we are working for more than double number of students. All this results in over burden, over business with all round low quality.

Your excellent blog - sharing a great vision for educating he nation

Dear Dr. Mishra, I found your blog very insightful and visionary. The very first word 'TeachKnowLogist' sums it all.

We have to reach out to all people of India to empower them through education. Distance education can be a very powerful tool for educating the nation. You have given an incisive example of IGNOU. I found your 'academic connecivism' very profound. It can be a powerful tool knowledge resource. Use of ICT in education will reduce the digital divide. If our technical and engineering colleges use MIT open courseware there would be huge qualitative imporvement in our education. IGNOU has also made its courseware available on the web for free access (gyankosh). It will reduce the digital divide. I thnik that digital disparity would be worse than economic disparity.

Time has come to make India a knoweldge society. The National Knowledge Commission headed by Sam Pitroda reiterates your vision as enumerated on your blog. We need to move to the next level of education - knowledge for all and access to all.

I remember interviewing India's Super Computer scientist Dr. Vijay Bhatkar. He told me a beautiful meaning of the word 'BHARAT'. 'Bha' means 'Knowledge' and 'rat' means the one engrossed in it. Thus Bharat is a land engrossed in knowledge. Thus, we must explore all possible knowledge expaansion and spreading opportunities as India's great destiny could be realised through knowledge.

Sadly, I found in my recent study that we have a lot of teaching but no learning, a lot of government but no governing. We have lakhs of schools but no education and if we have education where is knowledge? I go as a visiting lecturer for B.Ed. colleges and find to my utter dismay that even in so-called progressive state of Maharashtra (where MS-CIT of MKCL is compulsory) very few teachers use internet.

I think India is best positioned to exploit internet to reconstruct India as a k-based society.

I feel happy to discuss these points with you. I shall be in touch going beyond this course. I deeply share your vision. Prakash Almeida

Prakashalmeida (talk)11:06, 18 August 2008

Dear Prakash,
Very nice and humble thoughts in deed... We all have to work hard to make learning happen... I firmly believe in desing that makes learning happen.. However, in order to make learning transfer to work place and convert into economic gains, there are more to be done, such as creation of condusive environment and fostering of motivation amongst the learners to make any significant behavioural changes. It might sound like behaviouurist thinking... but, I see there is objectivism built into constructivist thinking...

Educational Research Methodology

--Uday singh 22:31, 10 August 2008 (UTC)== 'Dear all members,

In india there have been completed many PhDs ( in dicipline of Education) on topics like contruction of achievement test or oter psychometric tests. So far the research is concerned, it seems it should answer to some significant problem/problems. Construction of psycho, metric test should be considereded more a facilitation to research then research itself.
What are your opinion? please comment.

National and Transnational Curriculum Framework for WE

Dear Dr. Sanjaya,

Leigh Blackall working with Otago Polytechnic in Educational Development has set up a page for discussions on WE framework of National and Transnational curriculum in the WikiEducator gorup on Google Groups. The discussions are very much interesing and constructive. All WE community members are warm welcome to make it a permanent venue for discussions on Curricula. The intermediate outputs on the discussions will be added/ linked to the Curriculum Project Node ( http://www.wikieducator.org/Curriculum_INDEX ) on WE

Your New Collaborative Video

Hey! I see you've used the new collaborative video feature on your wiki. How did you enjoy using it? Have you thought of maybe adding it on to your favorite articles? Would you mind if people added on media to you videos? Let me know, Avigail

Avigail Perl (talk)15:09, 14 February 2008

Thanks Avi,
It was a nice experience to use Kaltura. We used a small digicam to shoot our thoughts/views. There were many takes to finalize the one to be added to Kaltura. It was fun, but at the same time educative. isee a great potential of the medium for education and training. May be I will use it in one of my research paper or even can include Kaltura in the course I teach.

with best wishes, Sanjaya --Missan 05:17, 15 February 2008 (CET)

Interactive questions

Last edit: 17:54, 4 November 2007

Sanjaya

It is possible to have have some interaction on objective type assessment. User:Kruhly has done some work on this, and he has a few links to examples.

Peter (who is working on the CCNC has also being using a few MCQ questions - see for example:

on this page

We need to think carefully when designing content on WikiEd. WikiEducator is primarily an environment designed for collaborative authoring of DE materials - and is not intended to replace or replicate the functionality of learning management systems.

Ideally I would like to see WikiEd content being exported to different formats, eg Print and hopefully an IMS content package in the future. So we need to think about the advantages and disadvantages when including these kinds of interactions.

Have fun

Mackiwg (talk)15:31, 5 November 2007

Thanks, Wayne for the information and clarification. I also see wikiEd as a great way to prepare learning materials to be used in various contexts. Soon I will start a new project and upload the material on a topic of distance learning. At present, the document is being finalized for a creative commons release by Asian Society for Open and Distance Education. I am planning to put that in WikiEd too.

regards, Sanjaya
