"I work with a few hundred 12 year olds in South Auckland, New Zealand.
I've been working with kids and IT for many years and I've become convinced that Web tools are very effective in raising the achievement of students disadvantaged for a wide range of reasons. Freedom from the tyranny of the pen seems to release a flood of creativity.
Teaching is such a full on job that finding time for my own professional development is a real problem. This OER approach, where you can get into it in your own time frame is brilliant.
I'm really keen on introducing students to online learning, so the teacher becomes more of a facilitator and less of an instructor. So I need to be able to create, and have access to online resources.
