Few people realise that clip art is often proprietary, and cannot be used in content packaged under a CC license, such as an OER. Some clip art is in the public domain or openly licensed, such as the example above

Case Study Three: Clip Art

Simon is a horticulture tutor at a New Zealand polytechnic. Today he is putting together a Powerpoint slide show on sustainable gardening practices for his students. To add visual interest to his slides he inserts a piece of clip art onto each slide from the Powerpoint clip art library.

Given that Powerpoint is proprietary software that is licensed to his polytechnic, which of the following uses can Simon make of his slides?
