Water Quality

  • The meaning of water quality varies with the use of the water. For example, if the water is being used for irrigation purposes or if the water is being used for domestic consumption, then the required quality of the water is very different.
  • Domestic water requires that the quality is such that the water is colourless, does not have any bacteria, and is not toxic.
  • A colourless water is not necessarily fit for consumption.
