Student-Facing Communication Plan

Pre-course

• Email: Welcome, introduction, getting started at the beginning of the semester, contacting instructor, introductions to people, course material, textbook
• Syllabus: Outlines course activities, expectations, requirements for discussion participation, assignment submissions, module due dates
• Welcome announcement: Links to all basic and introductory resources
• Course welcome front page: Introductions, getting started
• Schedule: Module due dates, project submission dates, course closing date for submissions

Week 1-12

• Front page: Overview of topic for the module
• Office hour: Reminder announcement
• Discussions: Prompts described with specific instructions for research, summery, comments, reviews, discussion participation, discussion posting grading
• Rubrics: Outline of requirements, assessment criteria, points allocation
• Feedback: Comments highlighting successes, missing, incorrect or inadequate submissions and how to fix
• Resources: Links to a selection of resources for topics within the module with title and brief overview

Week 6, 11, 12

• Additional information, announcements, emails about projects, grade reviews, reminders to complete any outstanding work, restate late submissions policy and deductions
