About Me
My name is Shekhar P. Sharma and I live in Virginia, USA. I do not have any back ground in teaching and I am here as a Student
My Introduction to Wikieducator
I came across Wikieducator while surfing the net for free learning to pass time as a positive substitute to solitaire and have been reading the emails and developments for over a year.
I am involved with American Red Cross, Prince Williams Chapter and Greater Prince William County Chapter of Medical Reserve Corps as Non-Medical Volunteer.
I got interested in Disaster Services and an idea came to my mind that if we can add Wikieducator platform to train small Teams in different communities around the World, then trained people will be readily available for action till external help arrives.
To achieve this, I registered myself with a new email ID and fresh determination.
My passion is to enable each community to have trained First Responders for any type of disasters.
My Education
B.A from Delhi University. B.B.A from Strayer University, Virginia.

Thanks Daniel, but how did you move?I mean the steps to do that, it may be helpful to know.

- Hi Shekhar, thanks for posting your thoughts on open versus closed approaches to authoring educational resources. However, they ended up on the wrong page, so I moved them here. The page that you edited, Quality control in open versus closed approaches to authoring educational resources, is intended to sum up the responses of all participants into a coherent article that covers all relevant perspectives on the matter. Of course, you are welcome to join in there once you are comfortably installed here. --Daniel Mietchen 04:50, 28 July 2010 (UTC)

Hi Anil Thanks for your warm welcome, it is inspiring.Today is my first day and I will try to settle down fast.
I still do not know how I can put my picture against my name, I did manage to upload after reading the prompts but still need some more directions.
Linking
Dear Anil I tried the external and internal links and to practice added few more to get used to it.
I have noticed that I have been given Apprentice award too, wow! That was a neat and honest one day's work
- Is there any instructions exclusively on syntax
- I want to try exporting photographs but I am not sure how to address the source lets say for: CC_BY
- Dear Sekhar ji, with respect to your query on linking, there are two types of linking
- Internal linking – linking a page on WE website to another page on WE site
- External linking – linking pages from another website.
- Dear Sekhar ji, with respect to your query on linking, there are two types of linking
- Internal linking
- To link an existing page on the WE site to your WE page, you have to use the syntax the page address
- To know the address of the page to be linked, go to that page and see the address bar of your browser. For instance if you are on my user page the address bar will show http://www.wikieducator.org/User:Anil_Prasad
- Copy the entire portion after http://www.www.wikieducator .org/ …that is you will be copying User:Anil_Prasad .
- Now go to your page, get it in edit mode, find the place to link this page and put two opening squire brackets and paste the page address you have copied close it with two closing brackets. So the syntax will be User:Anil_Prasad .
- Now save your page and see the result. My page name will be displayed as a hyper link.
- Now think about another scenario. Suppose you want the hyper link to be appeared just Anil Prasad in the published mode. What is the solution? It is easy,
- revisit the internal link you have just added
- put a | (pipe symbol) after [[User:Anil Prasad(normally you get it by shift key + backward slash key just above enter key on your key board) – after the | symbol type Anil Prasad. So the syntax will look like Anil Prasad
Though doing is easy, the instructions looks cumbersome while typing . So I will return with ways for external linking once you are familiar with internal linking :)
Warm regards
