My name is Dr. Sheela K.S., I work at Gargi College, Siri Fort Road, New Delhi 110049 as Reader in the Department of Physical Education. I am a Delhi born Malayalee, a DelMal so to say as opposed to a MalDel i.e.a malayalee in Delhi. I am fluent in both Hindi and Malayalam. I can also read and write Malayalam!!!.
My Interests
I am a university level Volleyball player, so I love watching volleyball matches.Volleyball matches are very exciting and my college team figures in the first four in Delhi University.I love listening to music. I can listen to any kind of music provided the conditions are right and the music is soulful.I love shopping and can't go by without shopping for at least a pen in a month. It is a stressbuster for me:-). I love reading fiction of any kind, though humorous books are the ones that I dig.Love watching comedy serials, stand up comedy, and movies which have a happy ending. Some of my favourite movies are Sound of Music, Gone with the Wind, Abyss, All James Bond movies, Kohinoor, Sholay, Chalti ka Naam Gaadi, Pierce Brosnan and Hugh Jackman are the two Hollywood heroes I like, Kishore Kumar, Dilip Kumar, Amitabh, Abhishek and lately John Abraham are the bollywood favourites. Ranvir Sheorey, Vinay Pathak, Rahul Bose, and Nagesh Kukunoor are the other favourites.Amongst heroines Shabana Azmi, Genelia, Catherine Zeta Jones and Nicole Kidman are the favourites. I like doing editing work and like to work on and learn more about powerpoint presentations. I would like to join a language course like German,someday when I can take out time:-).

Gargi College is named after an ancient Woman scholar named Gargi featuring in the Brihadaranyaka Upanishad. She is credited with having dared to learn the Vedas even when women were not expected to. She became famous when she questioned her husband -cum-guru Rishi Yagnavalkya on a certain philosophy in the veda.Women were not expected to question their husbands.
Gargi College was established in the year 1967 in a school building behind Lady Shri Ram College.The college shifted to its own place at Siri Fort Road in the year 1976. Gargi College is my own college as in I have done Botany Honours from here and after my graduation changed the line to Physical Education since I was a good Volleyball player.
Gargi College was given the College with a Potential grant from University Grants Commission in the year 2004.Gargi is nowadays counted amongst the best colleges in the University of Delhi.
