My Interests
Professional
- Currently pursuing a Counselling Certificate in an attempt to better relate to, understand and help those I teach.
- I enjoy learning about the new web-tools and technologies, we are still trying to grasp the depths of what the WWW has to offer.
Personal
- I enjoy Origami, and I "specialize" in miniature creations :-)
- I'm also very much involved in community/charity work, but with the philosophy of providing the tools to help yourself, not having it done for you.

Tools currently used within my classroom
- Currently I'm experimenting with Twiducate which is a social networking site for schools. It is an alternative to using facebook (which students love) and allows for a secure setting (which I like).
So far, I'm using it to:
- Post topic with objective and what accomplished in class, for those who were absent or maybe would like to a review of classes. This also helps me keep track of where each class has reached.
- Remind students about assignments
- Provide links to various websites with information
- Discuss additional topics using links or pictures
Always learning...Experimenting with other Tools
- I am being introduced to the wiki world - creating one that is ;-)

My Reflection
I am attending a workshop (eL4C41) in an attempt to learn to create wikis. The workshop is well organised with helpful tutorials, which means it's easy to catch up if you miss a few days :-)
