I teach 15-18 credit hours of composition/critical thinking, provide service to the University of Belize and the Belmopan community, and conduct institutional research each semester.
This semester I will be working with a team to revisit and revise our core composition course outlines. The objective of this review is to rationalize content, eliminate repetitions and duplications, and ultimately improve student outcomes particularly in the areas of critical reading and essay writing. As UB is preparing for accreditation, it is important that our courses meet transfer level criteria. I would be very interested in information as to what makes a composition course transferable.
