Myself
I name is Paul Fox Nongur, from The Papua New Guinea University of Technology - Department of Open and Distance Learning (DODL), I am from the Mount Hagen in the Western Highlands Province, Papua New Guinea.
Passion
My passion in life is to become a successfull in my profession as a Distance Education provider.
Technical Skills
My computer skills are limited to:
- word processing,
- excell spread sheet,
- MS Publisher and
- little networking
I have yet to master the ropes of the WikiEducator, may be I will over time and usage.
Community
The Papua New Guinea University of Technology is suitated in Lae, Morobe Provine. The university or ' Unitech' is based 8 km outside of Lae, in the Morobe Province of Papua New Guinea. It has 13 teaching departments and 3 affiliated colleges. It is the second largest university in PNG after its 'sister' university the University of Papua New Guinea in Port Moresby.
The Department of Open and Distance Learning's(DODL) is one of the departments of the university. The headquarters of DODL is located on Unitech's main campus at Taraka.
DODL is one of thirteen departments within the Papua New Guinea University of Technology. DODL was established in 1993 originally offering only the Adult Matriculation course and enrolling 49 students in its only centre, Taraka. Today DODL is the fastest growing department in Unitech having enrolled over 15000 students thus far and boasting twenty-two centres nationwide. With its dedicated staff, DODL stands by its motto "Continuing to Transform Dreams of Willing Learners".
Most information found on this site is centred around DODL's headquarters in Taraka(Lae, Morobe Province) however most information can also be applied to all other centres.
Our Mission: The Department of Open and Distance Learning(DODL) mission is to become a leading provider of open and distance-based learning prgrammes that are pretigious, affordable, accessible and appropriate in PNG and abroad.
