Professional Background
I have been working at the Virtual Centre for Innovative Learning Technologies (VCILT)of the University of Mauritius since its creation in 2002.Prior to joining the tertiary education field, i had the opportunity to teach art and design in secondary schools. As a lecturer in visual communication, I am not only responsible for delivering modules pertaining to communication graphics but I coordinate e-learning and multimedia projects, workshops on e-learning. I am also involved in developing undergraduate and postgraduate programmes which are offered mostly using an online delivery mode.
I have had the opportunity to work with primary school teachers to develop a multimedia enhanced CDROM for History and Geography. This was a research project involving teachers, history and geography consultants, the Mauritius Institute of Education, the Mauritius College of the Air, the Ministry of Education.
This January 2009, the VCILT was commissioned to conduct a study for the potential of e-learning development for the Seychelles. This consultancy was done in the context of twinning project funded by the SSNED organisation in Malta.
To be continued...
Education
Secondary Level
I went to Dr Maurice Cure Girls College which is located in Vacoas .
Higher Studies
Hopefully, I was lucky to have the opportunity to go abroad for further studies. I chose India to pursue my degree in the field of Graphic Design in 1989. In fact i had quite an interest in Textile Design but once I was there, I changed my mind and registered for a Bachelor in Fine Arts (Applied Arts) delivered by Sir J.J Institute of Applied Arts, Mumbai.
My Masters was in the field of Educational Technology. Thanks to a scholarship from the AUF (Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie), i was able to embark on a one year online master programme UTICEF - utilisation des technologies de l’information et de la communication pour l’enseignement et la formation .
My Interests
- I am surrounded by the sea, therefore i am quite fond of swimming.

My Reflection
The online workshop is going on smoothly. I had a few worries regarding 'user pages' but it is now sorted out. Thanks to suggestions from Wayne and Nellie!
I am trying to add a few lines on my user page everyday. It would have been great if we could just spend time working on the wiki but unfortunately, I have other things to do as well. Once you are in the WIKI, you do not know how time flies. Well, I think the tutors Nellie, Patricia and Wayne are doing a great job... I am now even more eager to get my students to register for the next workshop...
