ABOUT ME: DERICK KALUNGA
My Background
I was born in Kitwe, Zambia, in 1965.
- 1980 - 1984 I attended my secondary education at Kitwe Boys Secondary School
- 1985 -1990 Did my college education at Accountancy Training College, Chingola
- 1990 - 2002 Worked for the mines in Chingola
I qualified as an ACCA affiliate in 2000. ACCA
All my life I have valued and cherished the knowledge I acquire from the Bible and I am one of Jehovah's Witnesses.
I like my country Zambia. Natural disasters do not occur in this country.
My Familiy
I have a wife and five children. My wife worked for the mines as an artisan machinist and later changed to do engineering drawing. She currently works as a draftswoman.
My Work
- I worked for the mines for 10 years
- I quit to join the training industry in 2002.
- I now work as a lecturer at ZCAS
I find my work demanding but fulfilling.
Why I joined this workshop
We are in an information age and knowledge is abundant. It is important that I keep abreast of developments and current understanding of issues. In the search for knowledge I need to have research skills and sources that will enable me achieve learning objectives in the most efficient and effective manner. The workshop will provide me with the skills to do just that. I know my further studies to acquire another qualification will be a lot easier with skills and access to Wiki-wiki facilities.
