I'm not sure what I think of LT yet. Sort of a regression in threaded discussion, why not just incorporate the worlds best threaded discussion we already have?
I must say though I have read a lot of discussion on Wikipedia over the past months, ever since I made my first tentative edit. The thread I was reading yesterday was on Drupal. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Drupal :-)
That's it from me. I have a confession. When I started this (at 3.00am in the morning last week as I headed for the airport) it was here in LT I thought I was supposed to be writing. Some of my chicken scratching comments are there, but no-one noticed them.
Hi Derek ...
It's a tough call - a Wiki is a wiki and it shouldn't try to grow up into something which it isn't. In that sense - the Wiki shouldn't try to replicate successful technologies like threaded discussion.
The challenge we were facing in WikiEducator - is that many new users were finding it difficult to communicate in a unstructured environment. Newbies were Folk were not sure where to place their reponses, how to start new discussions, forgetting to sign posts, not sure how to indent etc.
LQT has another interesting feature derived from the wiki way - namely the feature of archiving posts - which will encourage the community to remain actively engaged by writing these summaries. We'll see how this works.
LQT is very much still a standard wiki page - you can edit my post! (This of course will be duly recorded in the history.). LQT uses the standard wiki syntax which useful when discussing syntax etc.
For me LQT should be judged in terms of making it easier for folk to communicate within the wiki rather than comparing it to other dedicated technologies.

Hi Wayne! It's Bill Oldham here. Just trying out the reply feature in Day 2 activities.
From your picture, I just assumed that you are out in the bush somewhere.
