Hi Mary,

Currently you can embed uploaded .swfs only. Please see the beginnings of a Flash tutorial.

Adding your youtube vidoe to Kaltura may be the way to go as I have seen it in an RSS feed of a video on Leigh Blackall's page. For other examples of RSS see Advanced_Users. You know about Kaltura already but may find the following tutorial useful.

There has been lots of discussion on third party media in Wikieducator. We are currently working on other methods for embedding third party media and will hopefully have a test case shortly.

Hope this helps.

Your advice helps a lot, as always. I will read the tutorials. I copied the code from day 5's flash tutorial to see if it would display my flash movie. It worked, but I want to know whether we can use the code or it if it proprietary (protected).

I am really glad that I was able to attain all of my goals with your help.

Thanks so much!

Just to make sure I'm on the correct page. You are talking about:

and you have substituted your flash file for New_page.swf. If this is correct, then no worries. This a flash extension that is invoked with <flash> </flash>. There is also an extension for playing .mp3s that have been uploaded to Wikieducator. See the beginings of an Audio tutorial.
