Feedback on the design blueprint for the Open Education Practice course

Jump to: navigation, search

I think this will be a worthy and useful course. A couple of thoughts on the specifics in the plan:

  1. To what extent will the course provide instruction on best practice design principles for the creation of OER?
  2. In the assessment section, it's not clear to me what the first two assessment items are. What will the learner produce/turn in? After the list, the next paragraph mentions assignments. It's not clear how the posts from the journal relate to assessment.

This looks to be an exciting course. Glad to see it moving forward.

Hi Alison,

Appreciate your time and review of the design blueprint. Thanks :-).

With reference to your questions.

Design principles will be covered in the Learning and Teaching in Practice course of the Graduate Diploma in Tertiary Education. The Open Education Practice elective does not focus specifically on design principles per se, but within the context of the full credential learners will apply what they've learned about design in the OEP elective.

The detailed course outline provides more information on the assignments. Learners will be expected to complete a reflective journal entry each week by posting on their course blog. Learners will then choose their best reflections for inclusion in each of the assignments.

Thanks for the feedback. I see now that there are two courses that will likely feed off of each other, and the detailed outline for this course does explain the assignments better.
