Meeting adjourned

thank you for the invaluable contributions, please foward profiles latest tuesday we plan to produce the first draft by the weekend, remember to use the questionnaire as a guide. do not make it lengthy half a page - a page will suffice. Ciao!

Kay go (talk)06:15, 8 March 2010

Thanks Kago

The literature review

i'm assuming we have all read the literature review please note that those are the main theories that we are going to use to analyse the different leaders. please comment?

Kay go (talk)05:22, 8 March 2010

guys on these theories will it not add more weight if we include diagrams were there are diagrams e.g hersey and blanchard.l have googled a diagram if it is necessary.--Shungunyoni 16:27, 7 March 2010 (UTC)

Shungunyoni (talk)05:27, 8 March 2010

please forward the diagram, we were debating whether the literature review was long, remember the new lecturer made it quite clear that he inherited the module outline hence the assignments, whether he will be looking for the same things as his predecessor? we are actually contemplating scaling it down

Kay go (talk)05:32, 8 March 2010

Please do, and on the analysis try and relate to the leadership framework he emphaside during the lecturers, I really believe theory we need to scale down in every assignment for this year and put more emphasis on how to use the theory.--Luisaserra 16:37, 7 March 2010 (UTC)

Luisaserra (talk)05:37, 8 March 2010

Thanks Luisa

Victor.mensah (talk)05:42, 8 March 2010

i totally agree with you on the application of theory on the analysis...we will try to apply it to the framework.

Kay go (talk)05:44, 8 March 2010

Iam concerned about the length of the literature review, however it is not good to leave major contents of the theories, thats wjy it is too long.

Hove (talk)05:39, 8 March 2010

Its possible to summarise points and capture more application elements to back the theory. What yu want to avoid is reproducing a book summary.

JEREMIAH CHAPHXANYA (talk)05:44, 8 March 2010

Thanks JC. The problem had been that the question asked for really too much. But we will try to summarize.

Victor.mensah (talk)05:48, 8 March 2010

Hove, I really do not think the assignment is about the theory, so do not put a lot of effort on that and do put more on the analysis of the theries and different life experiences of each one of us to get these traits coming through and then there let's put a lot of viwe points related to the different theories. The assignemnt guideline where it says "YOUR FINAL PRODUCT SHOULD INCLUDE" does not mention any dissertation about theories, so do scale it down. In the lessons the lecturer was very clear do not put a lot of pages for him, remember? Let's put the juicy part, the interviews our own experiences as "small" but important leaders in our various roles and the ana;ysis. These are my 10 cents thoughts--Luisaserra 16:49, 7 March 2010 (UTC)

Luisaserra (talk)05:49, 8 March 2010

SHungu, kindly email it to Kago

Victor.mensah (talk)05:33, 8 March 2010

yes members! we really need your critical assessment?

Kay go (talk)05:34, 8 March 2010

Kay go, please advise when are you sharing all the interviews with the team members and when are we sending our own life experiences for discussion, I believe it can enrich the assignment.--Luisaserra 17:00, 7 March 2010 (UTC)

Luisaserra (talk)06:00, 8 March 2010

the number of required interviews is reduced to 4, the assignment requires a leadership profile for each leader, written in a narrative form, so we are going to select the 4 and do the narration. as for your profiles remember you were to use the questionnaire as a guide to produce it, we SABs "yeah!yeah!" will amalgamate all in the analysis, we want to produce a 1st draft by the weekend so please all forward your profiles ASAP. where SAB = Southern African Branch

SOW MBL922

Jerry and Akachi have since sent threw the MBL922 SOW any comments, remember early in the week there were troubles with obtaining some information, have they overcome the obstacle?

Kay go (talk)05:48, 8 March 2010

Thanks Kago - We started the ball rolling, and for now we are running through volumes of pages on the takeover case. Its doable, but we have a bit of ground to cover. We welcome any contribution from any team member.

JEREMIAH CHAPHXANYA (talk)05:57, 8 March 2010

yes JC, contribution are welcome from members, the volume is big

Akachi Ngwu (talk)06:01, 8 March 2010

So watch the space for our draft ..... Once we have something reasoanble, we will ship it for everyone to review andf comments. Otherwise have a good week.

JEREMIAH CHAPHXANYA (talk)06:05, 8 March 2010

Akachi Ngwu (talk)06:10, 8 March 2010

Surprise! surprise!

dear all this meeting will not be long. as mentioned in the earlier mail we only received some of the questionnaire responses yesterday and today morning, and remember these are the main ingredient of the assignment. however this not a train smash we have since received ehough feedback to proceed and produce a first draft by the weekend. having said that the other contributing factor to the delay was the "pleasant surprise" it is with great pleasure that to notify the others that team SAB has managed to secure an interview with none other than his excellency Mo Ibrahim award winner for good governance the former president Mr.Mogae, on tuesday morning i will having a one on one with the man - this is all in effort to obtaining the 80% mark.

Kay go (talk)05:17, 8 March 2010

I think we are on track with the assisgnment at the moment

Hove (talk)05:22, 8 March 2010

i spoke with Hove on my inability to submit my questionnaire as agreed at the study school. the leader i submitted my questionnaire to suddenly travelled outside Nigeria, when i spoke with him on the phone, he said he will be back over the weekend and that the questionnaire will be ready on Monday, that is tomorrow. definitely i will make it available 2moro, my sincere apology

Akachi Ngwu (talk)05:26, 8 March 2010

Akachi I think we have enough questionairs. If you fail to get it

Hove (talk)05:34, 8 March 2010

thanks Hove, will still make it available to ur team

Akachi Ngwu (talk)05:39, 8 March 2010

What do members think of our rough draft? We really need your critical assessment

Victor.mensah (talk)05:24, 8 March 2010

Akachi Ngwu (talk)05:27, 8 March 2010

Akachi - Are you ok with the plan for 922N. We do have a bit of ground to cover, but we should be able to deliver some quality work.

JEREMIAH CHAPHXANYA (talk)05:55, 8 March 2010

Akachi Ngwu (talk)05:58, 8 March 2010

Thanks Akachi. Hope we can produce a masterpiece....

JEREMIAH CHAPHXANYA (talk)06:04, 8 March 2010

Kay go that is brilliant, indeed, thanks for that effort. please leverage as much that interview on a one to one, to get very good substance on the analysis we have to do of the different leadership traits and commonalities. I have read the draft assignment I do not think the lecturers are interested in theory but more interested in how we are using the theory in our analysis, this is how I view the assignment, what are your thoughts? Another questions who SAB team?--Luisaserra 16:34, 7 March 2010 (UTC)

Luisaserra (talk)05:34, 8 March 2010

yes, luisa u have a point there. application of the theories is critical.

Akachi Ngwu (talk)05:42, 8 March 2010
