Kindly remeind me to give you a candy for such good work <smile>
Hi Victor, thanks for the compliment, can we swop the candy by a visit to the disbled school in Zambia, that would really be SWEET--Luisaserra 16:59, 21 June 2009 (UTC)
Hi Lions, any other business you feel like discussing in this chat?--Luisaserra 16:28, 21 June 2009 (UTC)
What is the status of the "financial" commitment you talked about the last time? ANy guidance for members, or is this not part of this assignment?
Hi Victor, currently regarding the sponsorship we will approach ceratin companies in Uganda and bring then for an event at Salama school. When the Newsletter is finalised by Shumi he will send it to all of you and you can check in your organisations to get some "sponsor money", then we can transfer to Uganda and be given in the event day to the school from the Lions team in SBL. Iam not sure if we will face constraints on time on this one but we can strive to do our best.--Luisaserra 16:35, 21 June 2009 (UTC)
I am truely hoping time will not go against us on this. If we dont mnage to raise company funds, perhaps we will all need to chip in "something" ourselves.
that's fine. i seriuosly believe the salama school needs our financial assistance. may we need to agree on our target.
Hi Akachi, I fully agree with you, that is whay next week we are going to contact sponsors to help addressing the Salama school needs they presented to me and Shumi. The event is going to be organised by Coca-Cola as part of our CSR project every year, we have adopeted this school and is for some years to make it viable and sustainable so you should not worry about the money to do the event, I hope it is a bit clear on this one. This does not mean we do not strive in our organisations to get some money for the school back in all our companies as part of our 913M assignment.--Luisaserra 16:43, 21 June 2009 (UTC)
great, we are home with this assignment.
The discussions I had with my colleagues from HR & Marketing, is that the event will be at Salama, the children will sing, and some identified sponsors will come to award the different products to the headmaster. The event will be organised together with Shumi and the Coca-Cola lady Maureen she is our Public Affairs guru. Of course we will have the magic drink COKE to celebrate with everyone, any ideas you might have please send it to Shumi.--Luisaserra 16:49, 21 June 2009 (UTC)
just a follow up, are we making any cash committment on the MBL 913M assignment?
see reply to Victor--Luisaserra 16:35, 21 June 2009 (UTC)
Financial contribution for the project how are we going to do it.--Shungunyoni 16:33, 21 June 2009 (UTC)
See reply to Victor--Luisaserra 16:36, 21 June 2009 (UTC)
Hi kay go clarify for me cover fee?--Luisaserra 16:37, 21 June 2009 (UTC)
I think he is refering to some target like what Akachi has up there http://www.wikieducator.org/Thread:AOB_(11)
Dear Lions, please let me know when are you sending me the proof of visit to a blind school in your respective home countries?--Luisaserra 16:10, 21 June 2009 (UTC)
honestly iam yet to undertake any visit. Utang's withdrawal is a set back for me. i will plan to do sometime by the week.
Hi Akachi, it is indeed a set back that Utang has withdrawn her studies, let's keep in touch with her and support her. Is it possible for you to follow up with Hermanus on the assignmnets and if I can send an instruction to DHL to pick them, that would be the fastest.--Luisaserra 16:17, 21 June 2009 (UTC)
Hermanus is yet to respond as promised. I will follow up with him later this evening on facebook. to revert with his response ASAP.
That will be good. I also just noted that it is his birthday tommorrow, members may wish to send him a note to let him know we still remember him.
(: Kago -- It pains me that the phone i set a reminder for your Birthday gave up on me until last night. But happy belated Birthday!!!! Be blessed forever!)
allow me to ask the question again, are we limited to a blind school? can we not go to disadvantaged children's school. there is no blind school in our vicinity, the nearest one is 500kms away.
Hi Kay go the assignment says disabled people, so I would think it is ok. The reason we are saying blind school is because you are suppose to contribute for the assignment, but it is better to visit what is near you than not to visit, so I would recomend you go for it.--Luisaserra 16:19, 21 June 2009 (UTC)
Thanks Luisa, this answers my question also. Will undertake this within the week and report. Do you want photoes or some more detailed report?
Victor, Kay go and Akachi, I believe I will have an appendix with all the proof of the schools visited by the Lions, feel free to send photos, a samll brief on the school and any other information you will find suitable to proof you have visited the school.--Luisaserra 16:25, 21 June 2009 (UTC)
While we wait for the others I thought we can start the discussion on this assignment. Shungu has done some of the theoretical overview that I need to go and check with Salama school. Unfortunately this week I was unable to go there due to the downsizing of the Mbarara palnt to one shift operation and the transfer of the staff to Kampala. I have negotiated with my boss to go on Tuesday the whole day, so I bring the practical evidence so the report can be finalised. Apologies for the inconvinience, I am expecting to put the first draft on the emails by Wednesday evening.--Luisaserra 16:03, 21 June 2009 (UTC)
so far your team is doing a great job on the assignment. we await your first draft
It seems as a team we are still silent on the contributions for this project. what is the way forward?--Shungunyoni 16:18, 21 June 2009 (UTC)
The last day we met we agreed that there are some contributions (monetary)we need to make as a group so that we raise some funds or it can be used for raising somemore funds.--Shungunyoni 16:29, 21 June 2009 (UTC)
Hi Lions, Please log in in this area and say hello. Be patient and wait until everyone has logged in and we can satrt the meeting.--Luisaserra 15:18, 21 June 2009 (UTC)
