Understanding your organisation

Work doesn’t occur in isolation, everything occurs within a context and that context influences how you carry out your work. In tertiary education it would be very rare just to teach ‘a course’. Courses usually sit within programmes, programmes sit within schools or departments, departments sit within institutions or organisations and there are wider influences on those organisations.

This module encourages you to explore factors that impact upon your work context with a specific focus on the institutional /organisational strategies and priorities of your employer. You will consider ways in which you incorporate these into your teaching practice.

To work through this module click on each of the tabs in the title bar and work through the pages in order.
