TOURISM STUDIES 32F (Full Year) - TOU32F

PRE-REQUISITES
English at Level 2 is desirable. Geography and Tourism at Year 11 or 12 is an advantage.
CONTENT
Students study Australia and the Pacific as travel destinations. The study includes learning about the geography and climate of each region as well as transportation, accommodation, activities and events in each region. Students also describe and promote a New Zealand tourist destination.
ASSESSMENT
20 Level 3 Unit Standards. All units are internally assessed. Students have the opportunity to gain a Level 2 National Certificate in Introductory Skills in Travel and Tourism (if they have sufficient credits from Tourism 22S).
CONTENT
All costs are covered by STAR funding
FUTURE POSSIBILITIES
Tertiary courses leading to a National Certificate in Tourism and Travel. A Bachelor of Tourism degree at Lincoln University is another possibility.
