TOURISM 302 - TOU302

PRE-REQUISITES
English at Level 2 is desirable. Geography and Tourism at Year 11 or 12 is an advantage.
CONTENT
A course based on the study of the following themes:
- An advanced study of Australia and the Pacific as Travel Destinations. Study includes learning about the geography and climate of each region as well as transportation, accommodation, traveller advice and attractions, activities and events in each region.
- Describe and promote a New Zealand tourist destination.
ASSESSMENT
20 Level 3 Unit Standards. All units are internally assessed. Students have the opportunity to gain a Level 2 National Certificate in Introductory Skills in Travel and Tourism (if they have sufficient credits from Tourism 201).
COST
$10.00 for duplicating.
FUTURE POSSIBILITIES
Tertiary courses leading to a National Certificate in Tourism and Travel. A Bachelor of Tourism degree at Lincoln University is another possibility.
