YEAR 11 STUDENTS WILL BE PLACED IN SCIENCE CLASSES ON THE BASIS OF THEIR RESULTS IN YEAR 10 AND THE PROFESSIONAL JUDGEMENT OF STAFF

CONTENT
Science is a study of a range of topics: the living world, material world and physical worlds as well as Planet Earth and beyond. These topics build on those studies in Years 9 and 10 and develop scientific concepts as well as the skills important for using scientific methods.
All classes will study the following areas:
- Life process of ling things and how their environment affects them.
- How genetic information is passed from generation to generation.
- Fuels in our society.
- How objects move.
- Language of chemistry and reactions of acids and bases.
- Electricity in our society.
ASSESSMENT
Total 24 Level 1 credits – all credits are Achievement Standards.

Some teachers may provide additional course specific PHS workbooks - $20.00.
FUTURE POSSIBILITIES
This course is essential to all students who may wish to take one or more of the specialist Science subjects in the senior school.
