CONTENT
This course has been designed to meet the needs of local retailers in the community and students.
Retail is a thriving industry in the Papanui area and offers many opportunities for part-time and full-time employment. Students entering retain at an entry level have the opportunity for part-time work which may lead to a rewarding career in any business that involves customer service and the sale of goods and services.
Students in this course will learn skills and gather information in the following areas:
- Customer service
- Communication skills
- Computing
- Knowledge of the retail industry
ASSESSMENT
All assessments are Unit Standards at Level 2 to a maximum of 16 credits.
Practical work experience in a retail setting is a necessary part of this course.
COST
$20.00 for printed materials and class trips.
FUTURE POSSIBILITIES
This course will help students confidently apply for entry level jobs in the retail industry.
