PHYSICAL EDUCATION 21F (Full Year) - PED21F

PRE-REQUISITES
Preferably Year 11 Physical Education 11F
CONTENT
This course is for Year 12 or 13 students. It involves both theory and practical sessions. The theory covers such areas as – structure and function of the human body, sport and society, and how we learn physical skills. Practical work covers such areas as kayaking, alternative games and sports, remedial physical education, laboratory work, organisation of sports event and recreational activities. There is also a camp with the Kimi Ora Unit.
This provides the opportunity for students to:
- Increase their knowledge and understanding of human performance.
- Improve and develop a wide range of skills applicable to physical activity, and to apply them in a variety of situations.
- Develop administrative and organisational skills.
- Work with disabled students in both remedial and recreational work.
ASSESSMENT
Total 22 Level 2 credits, all internally assessed.
COST
$25.00 for course workbook and additional costs for camp fee in term 4(approx $160.00), trampolining (approx $80.00) triathalon (approx $50.00), roller blading(approx $50.00)
