MATHEMATICS WITH CALCULUS 21S (Semester - Second semester ONLY) - CAL21S

PRE-REQUISITES
Minimum of 14 Level 1 Achievement Standard credits. Must include AS 1.2, AS1.3 and AS 1.6. Merit in two of these standards is an expectation.
CONTENT
The emphasis of this course is to prepare students for Level 3 Calculus by focussing on Algebra and Calculus. Mathematical thinking and concepts are developed and placed in meaningful contexts.
ASSESSMENT
Students are offered 13 credits using both internal and external assessment.
COST
$10 for revision/homework book. Students will require a graphics calculator ($20 per year hired, numbers limited or buy one from the school office - $95)
FUTURE POSSIBILITIES
Mathematics at this level is a recommended background subject for many careers and for further study in many areas. Students may progress to CAL31F or MAT31F.
