MATHEMATICS 201 (2 Semesters) - MAT21S/MAH21S

PRE-REQUISITES
Minimum of 14 Level 1 Achievement Standard credits. Must include AS 1.2, AS 1.6.
CONTENT
The main emphasis of this course is broader than the other 21S courses. It is a general course that offers a variety of different topics.
Mathematical and Statistical thinking and concepts are developed and placed in meaningful contexts.
ASSESSMENT
Students are offered 9 credits - all internal
COST
$10.00 for revision/homework book. Students will require a graphics calculator ($20 per year - hired - numbers limited, or buy one from the school office for $95)
FUTURE POSSIBILITIES
The course is suitable for students not sure if they wish to persue Mathematics beyond the Year 12 level. This course will equip them with more advanced maths skills with a practical orientation. Students may progress to MAT31F (to be introduced in 2014).
