PRE-REQUISITES
Year 11 Japanese with a satisfactory grade. NCEA Level 1 with a minimum of 12 credits.

CONTENT
Students will extend the study in greater depth and improve their ability in reading, writing, listening and speaking. Two hundred Kanji will be studied.

Topics to be covered for Year 12 and Year 13:

1. Land people (Japan and New Zealand)
2. Family Life
3. Lesure Activities
4. Communication and the Media
5. The School System
6. Japan at Work
7. Eating and Drinking
8. Travel and Tourism

Four of the above topics will be studied by the end of Level Two.

ASSESSMENT
Total 24 Level 2 credits, all Achievement Standards.

FUTURE POSSIBILITIES
Year 13 Japanese.
