INTRODUCTION TO THE TRADES 22P (Full Year) - ITT22P
TEACHER IN CHARGE: Mr Case and Mr Hill
CONTENT
Units will be offered at school from trade related providers. The course will represent a set of foundation skills to gain qualifications. Students will construct products from wood, metal and plastics by using tools, machines and processes that will be taught in conjunction with the Trade Unit Standards.
- Construction - outdoor furniture
- Painting and decorating
- Plastics - moulding
- Welding
- Engineering
NB: This course is a double subject for 10 periods per week. There will be some time spent at CPIT – This is compulsory.
ASSESSMENT
30-40Level 1 and 2 Unit Standard credits available. Assessment will be competency based on theory and practical work - all internally assessed.
COST
$75.00 for consumables, and materials for projects will be paid for prior to manufacture.
FUTURE POSSIBILITIES
Satisfactory completion of this course will assist students moving into a trade training situation, Polytechnic course or apprenticeship.
